    Hi, yes spurring from the load side is fine,if you have an rcd at the supply source, you can isolate the outside light if a fault develops, but also the cooker hood ! If you have water into the outside light on Christmas day, your goose is cooked, and you can smell it !!:LOL: DS

    Garage wiring - advice

    I would extend it and allocate a circuit on the new CCU for the summer house. As TTC has suggested, it makes for a nice tidy job, and allows you to isolate each building if required. You may want to run a seperate circuit for the Freezer at the same time. DS

    The jobs backwards ! You would screen all audio cabling and use a 'balanced 'system with the screen earthed at the sound desk end to avoid earth loops. If the source is unbalanced,ie a guitar pick up, you would use a DI box. LED stage lighting with DMX control is now standard, even in schools...

    I bet you're cosultant is M+E and not a Theatre consultant? SY is overkill for this, 1.5mm TRS multicore is standard in Theatre. What is the patching ? Socapex or 15A tails ? DS

    The original job was fine, you could have disconnected the feed to the external light from the jb to give you some 'slack' to install your DP switch and then added a new length of cable from the DP switch position to the original jb connection block. Have you confirmed you have a functioning...
