    Aico alarm wiring instructions

I wouldn’t expect grey. That cable (well mine anyway) was around long before 2004 Annoyingly mine has twin blacks I suspect yours is from the 80’s. And mine from the 90s. They used white black for zone valves in the 80s. ACL. Whwre now they use orange grey

    New thermostat wires

you must have drilled though something. or made other changes while you were doing the stat ? Maybe you have drilled thru the upstairs socket circuit, and the boiler is feed off that circuit too. Either way, you need to get that stat off the wall and see what has happened. Also take a close...

    New thermostat wires

Well I think you have drilled thru a cable by the stat. May as well take the stat backing off the wall and see if you can see anything thru the hole and if that cable moves freely

    New thermostat wires

well I think you have done some damage to the boiler, or something. Very difficult to tell from here. You will probably have to get a profesional out. But if you post some pictures of the boiler, timer, switch by boiler, consumer unit someone may have some bright idea's or things you can try...

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

You can also wirelessly connect a BT/EE handset to the router. Given the amount of router changes, I think the handset would only end up as E waste in 2 years time, so don't even want to spend £5 on one lol !

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

So with Fibre you have to have (at least) 2 powered boxes. 1. An ONT Optical Network Termination. and is the size an FCU (so standard back boxes can be used on new builds). The fibre goes in, DC power, and an ethernet socket to the router (a red cable is used to signify its incoming). Early...

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

Apparently the fibre connections don't go into the cabinets Just seam to be all under ground. I think they are trying to get rid of the cabinets. Someone had an idea, what to do with these roadside boxes, that have a power supply to them? Answer = An ideal point for an EV charger. Except...

Allowable Cooker Connection Unit outlet plate positions behind built-in oven?

If they have said to put the "the mains socket" in hatched area, then they will have tested that, and satisfied themselves its ok. Have you purchased the oven yet? It seam's to suggest it comes with a plug, and you need to fit a socket. In which case you fit a socket As heat rises it should be...

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

I don’t think the ups included the router The cost and maintenance of batteries would make it silly of them to provided it to everyone. The ONT had a phone socket I guess. Now deleted

    BT phone line/service 'upgrade'

morq It’s interesting that the early fibre adopters had battery backup installed in their homes to ensure phone still worked. (Maybe an option). They seam to have stopped that now. You can see videos on YouTube with them.
