    Device ID please

Its my nephew's house. The tap set is an easy off with the old and on with the new. So long as I can isolate the HW, the CW off at the main stop. Then of course, there's the shower rail/curtain to fit.

    Device ID please

I had a look in the HW tank cupboard at a house today where I'm going to fit a bath tap/shower mixer set. I'd need to isolate the HW at the tank and CW at the main stop. I presume the red Grundfos device is a HW pump to increase pressure.? I'm mystified by the white plastic body device...

    MIG gas welder settings

Job done! Set the Mig to 1, Min and wire dial to 7. Welding was a bit spluttery so switched to Max and it seemed better. Switching to Max also sped the wire up. Got the washers tacked on to the tubes and painted so all is well. Thanks All!

    Oil Filters

ref: Borg & Beck The brand is owned by Firstline and the parts are manufactured in China I believe. On the flip side, if one exits, Hengst, a quality brand based in Germany, have a factory in China too.

    MIG gas welder settings

Can someone explain the 1/2 and min/max switches in the attached picture please? The manual implies they control the wire feed speed but there's a separate rotary dial for that. I'm attempting to weld some 50mm body washers to the bottom of the 30mm tube feet on a steel frame garden swing seat.

So the solution is to replace the top row of bricks I presume?

    Oil Filters

Establish which filter brand supplied the factory where the engine was assembled and use that brand. Mann Hummel seem to be the biggest after market supplier. They own Wix and Filtron too.

    Wall capping blocks

What's the appropriate concrete mix for wall capping? I presume small gravel is suitable aggregate?

    Wall capping blocks

I have a 4' high two course perimeter wall, the top row being a single row, side on. Some of the top row have cracked and I'm considering making my own 1" high, maybe 2' long capping blocks to sit on the wall. What would be a suitable mortar mix to make the blocks with?

    VW warning light expertise please

Have been to a local garage who plugged his diagnostics in. It didn't find any recorded faults. I found an article on a VW forum about resetting the esp by holding the esp button in for 5 seconds. I did this with the ign on and the warning flickered and then starting the engine, the light goes...

    VW warning light expertise please

Rather than spend £££s on code reader/scanner, seems sense to have the car scanned by an auto sparky to pin point the bother.

    VW warning light expertise please

Surely if the code reader can communicate with the onboard, all faults should be reported? My reader was a Santa prezzy from my sister. She got it at Aldi! How about the Streetwize brand stocked by ECP?

    VW warning light expertise please

The weird part is my code reader not reporting any error codes.

    VW warning light expertise please

2004 Bora 1.9 TDI I've had a look around and there was a suggestion it was the brake lights. Have checked them and LH, RH and bar lights are all lighting when pedal is pushed. Brake fluid level seems good too. Anyone know what the generic symptoms are for this warning light?
