    '69 Tipo rattle

When I got the car to drive, a slight knocking seemed to be on the o/s front. I looked at both sides suspension and all bushings and ball joints were good. When turning the wheel, I could feel a slight clunk on the o/s spring at the top. I removed the strut and dismantled it but the strut...

    Puncture repairs

Sorted out a slow puncture on a family car yesterday. I took the wheel off and found both a small screw head and a thin wire spike in the tread centre about 14" apart. Took it to local tyre centre and the fella said they wouldn't repair the punctures because little feathering cracks on the...

    '69 Tipo rattle

I've been asked by my niece to investigate a rattle on her 1.4 Tipo. She's been back to the dealership (no older cars) twice with whom the car has warranty. Thus far, they've replaced a drop link under warranty. Are there any suspension weak points on these Fiats?

Honeywell T3R to LG Therma V wiring

From what I've read, over-sleeving is not allowed in 18th Edition and for such as a boiler's wifi thermostat base unit, 4 core cable should be used, the gray wire used as switched live.

    Radiator pipe flushing

What I did was, with the lock shields closed, drain the radiator off through its drain spout on the neck, then opened the lock shields one at a time and let the water from the pipe drain out through the drain valve. No sludge evident in the collected water. When filling the radiator, I opened...

    Radiator pipe flushing

I want to flush the feed and return pipes on what I believe is the by pass radiator in my CH system. The radiator is a 900x600 Myson double panel with both lock shield valves fully open. The radiator does get hot but the bottom middle gets luke warm if that even after hours having the CH on...

    Device ID please

I noticed the valve was upside down, or at least I noticed the letters were. Now I know what the valve does and how it does it. Does the orientation of the valve effect performance? ....... its downstream from the pump also pictured.

    Device ID please

Tap/shower fitted and yes, its performance is rather poor due to gravity fed HW. Will look to getting a HW pump fitted. One aspect that bemuses me. Why are HW Pumps only rated up to 65° C ? ....... not particularly hot?

    Bath tap sealing washer

The feed pipe to tap spout had a fibre washer on. Can I use a rubber o ring for the seal when refitting?

    Window to frame overlap

I'd say not because I fitted new hinges when fitting the bubble gasket. I can move the window frames about 2mm further to the hinge side to make the hinge and lock side overlaps the same. I'm thinking of fitting some R5019X gasket which is wider than the bubble gasket I fitted.

    Window to frame overlap

When closed, there's very little overlap between the frame and the window frame lip for the bubble gasket to form a seal on. I've taken some measurements and about 6mm overlap on the outside and about 5mm on the inside. When closed I can see daylight on the hinge side. I was going to redrill...
