Can't Ignite Baxi Bermuda Back Boiler

The cooker was working fine till my wife used the top oven. The entire grill chassis etc just fell into the food. The idiot hadn't done the screws up properly. Unbelievable. So got him coming back again..... Not happy

Can't Ignite Baxi Bermuda Back Boiler

Thanks. When the cooker was fitted last April, the bloke relit the boiler. This bloke just left and didn't even try. Just said he didn't know anything about those boilers and wasn't his responsibility anyway. Due to have the yearly service on Monday but have arranged him to come tomorrow...

Can't Ignite Baxi Bermuda Back Boiler

I have an old Baxi Bermuda Back Boiler which usually runs fine and without issue. However, today when an engineer came to fix our gas cooker, the gas needed turning off. Afterwards, I tried to restart the boiler following the instructions could not get the pilot light to ignite. Got no flame...

Selling Old Hillman Avenger Tiger Project Parts

I had a project way back of creating a hybrid 2 door Hillman Avenger Tiger suped up type thing. It was great fun years back and I made some progress but 30 years of marriage, leaky garage roof and kids signed the death warrant for the project. Sadly, the car itself was scrapped (as was rusted...

2007 Petrol Fiesta - Sometimes Problem Changing Gear

Yeah, think it's time for the garage. Last time I changed a clutch was a 1974 Hillman Avenger (it was old at the time). That was fairly easy. Don't fancy messing with this clutch. No room to move...

2007 Petrol Fiesta - Sometimes Problem Changing Gear

Car has done 11700 miles. Don't think it has ever had a new clutch. Given that info, first suspicion goes to having the clutch replaced. However, it's the nature of the issue I'm seeing that makes me suspect, this is not the exact problem as a worn clutch would surely be consistently bad...

2007 Petrol Fiesta - Sometimes Problem Changing Gear

Sometimes I have problems getting my 2007 petrol Fiesta into gear. But the issue is very intermittent and not consistent. Not sure whether this is pure coincidence or not but find if the car has had a motorway drive, after getting onto local roads afterwards, can be very hard to change gear...

Low Flow Causing Gas Cooker Grill Not To Ignite

Just had the Hotpoint engineer round to look at our gas cooker (as it's still under warranty, only 8 months old). Recently, the grill has stopped igniting and there's a smell of gas afterwards. Everything else works fine. Engineer just been round (I was out at the time) who told my wife...

    Removing push fit connector

Thanks all for your messages. Have replaced with a nice new pipe now. However, the 20+ year old push fit didn't come off without a struggle. Hacksaw/Stanley knife was required but luckily got there without damaging the copper pipe. All good now with no leaks... Phew!!! Cheers

    Removing push fit connector

To be honest, I never took much notice of the scaling up. It sits round the back of our en suite toilet. I plumbed in the shower pump years ago using JG then used HEP20 fittings recently for our shower unit. Went for HEP20 due to being more durable long term as some of those joints are quite...
