Is my water pressure too high?

One more quick thing which I've just noticed.... Once the CH is turned off and boiler the flow and return pipes have gone cold, if I run DHW for long enough to get truely hot (about a minute), the CH flow pipe also gets very hot. Is this right, or does it mean that there's something wrong...

Is my water pressure too high?

Cheers Chris, Right! I'm getting somewhere now. Sort of. Before we get hung up with the problems I'm having with the shower, I want to look at my DHW only. Here's my situation: I've turn the mains stop tap to *fully* open. I've played with the quarter-turn tap on the cold water inlet...

Is my water pressure too high?

Thanks all, I didn't expect so many replies so quickly! OK, I need to clear up a couple of things - I didn't mention this before because I didn't want to overcomplicated things.... The hot water isn't actually a problem, but from my very small previous experience it normal heats up quicker...

Is my water pressure too high?

I have what I believe to be a fully working Sime Super 90 plus boiler. It heats the CH and it heat the DHW fine (the diverter valve is working because when the CH is off, the hot water heats up). BUT, if I open my main stop tap fully, the water pressure is such that the boiler can't cope - at...

    Another Sime boiler problem

If you do need a new diverter valve, I bought one for my Sime Super 90 plus for about £25 from a place in Birmingham - I thought that was a bargain!

New diverter valve, now boiler won't fully fire up!

Thanks Tony, However, I think a bit of a rest did the boiler good. I presume I'd got some water in the 'main gas' solenoid when changing the diverter valve. After a few more hours it started firing up properly and it's now working as new again. By the way, I think my diverter valve for £25...

New diverter valve, now boiler won't fully fire up!

OK, I'm getting there now.... The ignition is firing constantly - every second or so. The pilot gas solenoid is working fine - when it isn't plugged in, you don't get any flame - when it is, you hear it click once and the pilot ignites. The main gas solenoid doesn't appear to be doing...

New diverter valve, now boiler won't fully fire up!

One more thing.... What is the device, on the gas valve which looks a little like a solenoid but is labelled 'proportioning unit (24)'? This is loose as well? Bob

New diverter valve, now boiler won't fully fire up!

Thanks Chris, OK - I've had a good night's sleep now (well, 5 hours anyway) and it's still not working.... SO, I've taken off the cover to the electronics.... When the CH or DHW is 'on', there is a small device on Power PCB which flashes every 1 second or so - this looks like a Piezo...

New diverter valve, now boiler won't fully fire up!

Hi, My boiler is a Sime Super 90 Plus combi. The diverter valve needed replacing, so I bought a new one and did this. The new valve (seems to) work a treat. BUT, in changing it I think I've inadvertantly done something bad.... When I try to run hot water, or use the central heating, the...
