Sorry, wasn't thinking. Yes, isolation valve working fine, no blockages. Mike

Yes, cleaned spray arms and tried reset with machine empty. Where is the isolation valve? Mike

Firstly thanks for getting back to me. I took the inlet hose off and can blow through it and meshes seem clean. Not sure where the inlet valve is as no diagrams. No change in water pressure (excellent)and stop taps not been touched. No blocks or kinks. I can hear that water is coming in and...

Whirlpool ADP 2315 Dishwasher 2 years old.

The dishwasher fills then after a short time the cancel light flashes 6 times and the water is pumped out before any wash/rinse cycle starts. The cancel light continues to flash 6 times at regular intervals. This happens on all cycles including cold water rinse. I have tried...

    Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3 W System Bypass

After Googling found out that the bypass valve provides a means to discharge the pressure should all the rads be turned off by the TRV's. I have always left a rad with no TRV "Always on" and in a room I don’t use that much. (it's the only rad with no TRV) As a bypass is fitted, Would it be ok...

    Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3 W System Bypass

Hi Bunnyman, thanks for getting in touch. Good to hear from you again. (Even though it's a sign something has gone wrong.) So the right angle tube + something http://www.heatingspareparts.com/Content/images/spareparts/150216.jpg has replaced the the round bypass with diaphrahm. If you have...

    Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3 W System Bypass

Hi, help needed identifying parts. Small leak when boiler off from what appears to be the system bypass, (3 screws, diaphragm, spring, 2 union nuts,) located under pump. I assume from the slightly brown sticky leak that diaphragm has perished. Seems a fairly straightforward job if I can...

    Are Rad Tails standard thread?

Hi again Agile Tony, thanks for the reply. Yes, replacement a good idea but at this time of year can I be aaa bothered. I'll buy a new TRV with the Rad and see how I feel on the day or do it later. Cheers, Mike

    Are Rad Tails standard thread?

I need to replace a leaking radiator. The tail to the TRV is a gland type with 3/4 union. Can I fit the tail from the old radiator to the new one to avoid replacing TRV and partial drain down? Thanks.

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

Thanks Tony. Did replace with new wax stat. Haven't tested the one I took out yet. As I had a new one decided to change it anyway. Why two boilers - big old house, and in when I bought it 24 years ago. Between them they run 20 rads on two circuits - basically one for upstairs and one for...

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

All seems to be working now!! Removed gland on F/S spindle, WD40 and using 2 nuts and 7mm socket turned it back and forth a little. Adjusted M/S plates. Still a bit sluggish compared to good boiler but, as I said, all seems to be working. The hot water comes on when set to H/W only and seems...

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

All assembled/bled and adjustments made - no leaks. Still no hot water. The spindle in the flow switch is not moving as freely and operating the micro switches compared to the other boiler. The spindle on good boiler moves very quickly to operate micro switches. Spindle partially seized...

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

Thanks Tony. 200% certain no washers left behind. If there's never a problem the only thing I can think of is that the larger washer may have slipped/kinked when I offered it up. Will try again and get back. Mike

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

Yes, housing on wax stat in flow valve (diverter) No, all washers - seals came off and ensured seats were clean. So is it ok to use a sealant? Vaillant says not to. Mike

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

Help. Took off thermostat housing, cleaned and carefully reassembled using new seals. Ensured all joints seated and positioned (red ring) properly and went round tightening gradually. Refilled and water pouring out of triangular thermostat housing. Extra little turn on screws made no difference...

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

Thanks the 831 Bunny. The wax stat has three internal rubber seals with it. If careful I could use the existing washers with a bit of Fernox LS-X, though new would be better. While I'm at it and in view of the skin of limescale behind the bleed points may take the MH/ex off and flush it...

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

Hi Tony. I suspect the wax element is on its way out (27 years!) Flow switch is the term Vaillant use though diverter valve seems more common. As the seals and washers are no longer available I was thinking of just removing the thermostat housing as the element came with three internal...

Meant to say that when I operate RHMS manually with H/tap running and CH off - boiler flames. Mike

Vaillant VCW 20/1 T3W No hot water

Head spinning! I did turn the 7mm nut down and a bit more this morning. Switch plate does rise but very slow. Took panels off adjacent (GOOD) boiler to compare. With boilers off for 10 minutes:- PROBLEM boiler - RHMSP (right hand micro switch plate) still in contact with M/S (rising...
