Load bearing timber between these supporting walls - will this work?

We don't have stairs yet and feed thru old hatch in the ceiling - 4.8 feed thru fine, so 5.2 - should fit just aboutm but longer timber unlikely.

Load bearing timber between these supporting walls - will this work?

This is not a joist - but large support timbers that runs doubled (or even trippled) in thickness along the edges of the roof (~400 to 800 mm away from edge). The floor joist are attached to them on joist hangers and run perpendicular to the timbers. Why oak? Suppose due to hardness and longevity

Load bearing timber between these supporting walls - will this work?

It's hard wood (oak) Just double checked - the length is 5.2m and it's the longest they make (Frank Key). No we don't have architect drawings for the loft - I've drawn room layout myself in Smartdraw, but there is no load calculation from architect. Building reg company is to check and approve...

Load bearing timber between these supporting walls - will this work?

Hello everybody, We're doing loft conversion in bungalow. I have two nearest supporting walls 502cm apart inner sides and 532cm apart outer sides. Our builder uses 30cmx5cm timbers for load bearing and the longest you can get is 520cm. So there'll be only (520-502)/2=9cm overlap between the...

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

    I use metabo 626706000: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IE5PD1O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

titan weights 6.3kg! I want something much lighter 2-3 kg at max, thus it's gotta be cordless How much did you pay for it including charger and batteries?

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

No only 6 mil hole - 3-4 then 6, see my post above

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

I don't mind being patient at all and I am patient. I'm happy to spend 15-20 min per hole as I only drill like a dozen a year or less, so time isn't a big concern. But recharging and thus killing the battery every ~15 mins IS a concern, hence I find the new Dewalt drill with 1.3Ah battery...

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

I'm using decent mid-class drill bits (metabo 626706000) which is about a tenner on amazon and has decent 4.5 rating and lots of reviews ~250, so it's likely boils down to:

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

I really want cordless as I'm occasional DIYer so I don't need a serious corded beast, which is much heavier (typically 4-6kg), need long extension (~15m or more) to drill outside like back garden. So flexibility of having cordless is more important for me.

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

So conclusion is that for concrete drilling I need much more powerful battery, which would cost nearly the same as the whole drill+charge+1.3Ah battery. Is it really worth investing/wasting £150 into Dewalt combi drill for occasional concrete drilling if I can buy Makita DHR202z(Hammer+SDS) with...

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

You serious?? My other drill Workzone codless combi has 14.4V, 1500mAh battery and I've just finished the hole in the post with it - this took another ~10 mins and drained the 1500mAh battery by only 20% (so 80% charge still left). So itsn' 1.3Ahx18V running for ~10-15 mins into concrete too...

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

Again, maybe. I fist drill with 3mm drill bit - that takes most of the time - about 15-20 min per hole. Then use 4 and finally 6mm bits - those go thru quickly (like 1-2 mins or less). That still doesn't explain fast battery draining on the new drill - most reviews says the battery has a long...

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

Could be, but still doesn't answer my question about 1300mAh battery life time.

1300Ah battery fully drains after 10-15 mins drilling into concrete post - Battery faulty???

Dear all, I'm drilling concrete fence post with a cordless combi drill in hammer mode and a new fully charged 1300mA battery gets flat after 10-15 mins of drilling. The drill is Dewalt dcd776 Battery is 18V, 1300mAh dcb185 dewalt battery. Both drill and battery are new (bought a few days ago...

Please advice on hexagonal tool holder for drill bits?

Most often I will need to drill holes for plugs in brick/concrete wall, 6 to 8 mm, so if I drill M6.0 I would need the hole to be nore more than 7-8mm (probably more like <=7)
