OK, latest update... As the post identifies... I have a "few" wiring issues to deal with in a house I move into on 14th May... I have taken the learned advice of this thread, and have so far had little response for a true professional... Due to this I would like to open up the tender...

I take it this means that it needs the heat of a "spark" to get them jiggering enough to produce light??

I'm sorry, but if you can afford to buy a flat with the remainder, you really are not customer focussed enough... you should be happy with a static caravan and a chemical toilet... On a serious note though, I don't know that many people with a D*nkey... lol

    Coloured Fluorescent Lighting.

Apologies for my lack of knowledge... what's the difference between a neon and a flourescent?? This may well help the post, I'm not being bl**dy minded, I really don't know the difference... FD

    Coloured Fluorescent Lighting.

This is true, however, I was also thinking about the safety of having 240 volts at foot level (from what I can gather??)... the current off a 12v supply might not want to blow your socks off (literally  ) FD

Could I also suggest "Full money back guarantee when it rains" as a strap line...? You are limiting your market to men who are married with the wife pleasuring tag line.... FD

Another option might be to get the under car neonlighting kit and run it off a 12v step down transformer... ?? they come in red, green and blue... I'd check to see if the step dwon is "acceptable" with a real electrician (FWL for example) first though... you get 2 x 36" neon tubes; 2 x 48"...

having reviewed the thread so far, I've decided that I really am not in a position to carry out the work myself due to the following points. 1. I can buy my own Clipsal gear and blame someone else if it goes wrong.. 2. My mortgage is secure if I get a spark in. 3. MY wife will be...

errr... yes and no... I'm saying that the charge should show how the final bill is made up in component parts. So, rather than charging extra, itemise it. IF I saw a quote that said £120 to fit a "wossit", then another one that said £130 with the component parts to it, I know which I'd...

OK, since I started this thread, here's my 2p's worth (no extra commission included) Why not? As a consumer, then I would rather see this cost as it is justifiable, within reason. Plus it's a cost that isn't unnecessarily going to change. In a former life as a sales man and sales training...

Without risking starting a WAAAY too controversial "discussion", whilst I respect a right to a profit margin, I've worked in both retail and wholesale environments in the past... and I'm in no way suggesting that any smaller scale wholesalers do this, however, I myself have "bumped" the price to...

Many thanks all for the suggestions so far.... I suppose the proof in the pudding might be when I come to ask for quotes. At least with a supplier it'll be a case of supplying a list of the bits I need and waiting for the price, the downside of an internet "warehouse", increasing...
