    Thanks to everyone for the input. Could I use a push-fit fitting to join the black and blue pipes together ? They look easier to insulate than the ones I have at the moment and would keep us going until we can dig out and replace the whole section. John

    Thanks Tony, I was afraid that might be the case. Unfortunately it would mean digging up tarmac on one side of the bridge but I suppose we could do it if we had to. John
