    Fibreglass Valleys

Im surprised theres so many for's for grp on this post. We do alot of premier inns and other hotels where grp is specified which is acceptable due to the roof coverings will probably only have the same innings. Leads far superior! And for paddy or mick to see a payday in a valley they must be...

New roof fitted but wet beams after heavy weather?

The roofers probably puzzled down to the fact a 4 hipper with no details doesnt leak! If the gauges aint stretched maybe the top battens too low with insufficient ridge cover.

Using tile vents for high level ventilation

3 tiles down generally wont disturb the ridge due to the gauges unless the roofer decided to put a nail in every time he seen a plane (random nailing). If you go 2 down the ridge will no doubt be disturbed. Which will mean prob re bedding 8 ridge due to disturbance.

Using tile vents for high level ventilation

Installing them 2 tiles down means disrupting the ridge. The ventilation on the velux's at the front will 10x a vent. Are vents really needed?

New roof fitted but wet beams after heavy weather?

The tiles do look overstretched against the ridge. For water to be coming in through the nails must be leaking like a sieve.

Decorative tiles on gable end: re-nailing

The only way to do it without using gripbond or silicone is get a thin sturdy bar ie a hip iron put that over the nail and hit where accessible with a hammer.

Does this new roof look ok?

Theres nothing wrong with either pic. The valleys a standard 4 1/2 inch / 5 inch valley. And pic 2 still has to have hips applied. The straightness isnt an issue as due to the cuts being hidden. Looks a decent enough job.

Dry Verge - Klober v Marley

Sharp sands more structural and crack resistant. Soft sand with a 3-1 mix is more than suffice for a verge aslong as bedded well. As for your verge clips, their usually specified by an by regs due to wind sog. So if your in a windy area use them. Be prepared to curse and swear though :p.

Dry Verge - Klober v Marley

Id steer clear of flexipoint ! Its not even cost effective! The amount of dry verge systems weve replaced over the years is ridiculous, For a product they call maintenace free! If you strip your verge off and re- bed in a decent 3-1 mix it ll see you out more than likely. If thats the road you...
