    just about to do this, but i have a water cylinder. do i just: switch off the water and boiler. turn on the taps (to empty the system) cut through the pipes - (do i need a special tool?) tighten these isolating taps on the end of the cut off pipes, or is there more to it?

    no i am not sure, i was told it was oak, it is reclaimed from a school approx 100 years old. how can i tell if it is teak? i have just been thinking, i may not've mixed up the hardwax oil enough, does it seperate in the tin (wax and oil)? if so i may have just oiled the 4 blocks?

    5mm seems a lot, but if you do a search on this forum you will see that it is natural for wood flooring to shrink in the winter and expand in the summer.
