    Electric Boilers

Ah it makes sense now (I'm guessing Victorian conversion?!) You also need to get an Electrician involved, to ensure your electricity supply will be able to feed a large load like this. You almost certainly won't be able to use the shower and have the boiler on at the same time (the boiler...

    Electric Boilers

I would not go for an Electric system. Cant see how the freeholder can insist on using their guys, as I thought only the gas company could fit a gas meter a pipework.

    Unsure of earthing type

Ive seen this before in a maisonette, there was a standard cut out in a cupboard downstairs, with a steel conduit buried in the wall vertically feeding a metal cupboard (mantel) with a BS1361 fuse and carrier, meter and CU in.

    Loading

I have no idea why these people load their cars up like this. I have a Transit and still get everything delivered, most merchants will deliver same/next day free of charge, and usually cheaper than B and Q and Wickes. And you can order over the phone.

How big / expensive a job

It appears some people on here have never tried coring through red brick, or engineering brick. I'd allow 2 hours minimum just for drilling the hole. In reality what you are asking for is probably nigh on a days work. Ballpark probably £500, inc materials.

    Universal MCBs

As the others have said (and I should have too), be on the lookout for fakes! I saw 10x Merlin Gerin RCBOs on there the other week for £180, shipped direct from China, one to avoid I think!!

    Universal MCBs

Try ebay or 'thefusecompany.co.uk'. Personally I'd just put whatever I had to hand in there, doubt the assessor would say anything.

    Help needed please.

I am an Electrician. I did a full apprenticship etc, but towards the end of my apprenticeship I did whats called an NVQ3. It basically was a portfolio, made up of information and pictures of jobs I had carried out. I had a few site visits from the lecturer, to check health and safety etc...

    SWA in flowerbed?

TBH I recently laid an SWA on the ground (in an industrial environment) and I cable tied the yellow warning tape to it. Not perfect but then nothing is.

    Earth Cable

So you've left the installation with no earth conductor? You could crimp it.
