I don't think they will let you turn the water off to the entire block. I once got called out to a block where water flooded down through three flats and they still refused to let us turn it off in the road. Probably some H+S rubbish :roll:

Yes, it won't work untill you fit the other switch. Just a little hint for next time :lol: you can fit a lot more cable inside that box, if you make a bit of a bend in the cable before you push it back. It makes wiring up the switch, and any future work a lot easier. Good work :wink:

I think you are causing yourself extra grief here. Why will the pipe burst if you lay a new drive way? Why do you think the power cable will fail? They are both hugely unlikely, its not often (ever) I see water gushing out of new drive ways.

It still looks hideous, the socket isn't very pleasant on the eye, unlike the MK (or similar) versions.

You need to get the electrician involved before you start. He won't sign off/check anyone elses wiring after you've finished. Good luck finding a 45A RCD.

I was given a 'socket and see' phase finder for that.
