    its not the life of the lamp but the life of the dimmer that is affected. try tlc-direct, they should have what you want.

    wont be 40watt then... 20w - 35w - 50w. i would suggest going for a 2 x 400w dimmer to be safe :wink:

    add up the wattages of the circuit you want to dim then choose the appropriate dimmer to suit. there has beeen some debate about doubling the halogen wattage before choosing a dimmer for these.

    thats all well and good but remember, there are 2 ends to a cable... you need to find the right end or the electrickery flows the wrong way.

    wrong.... its a phrasal verb get away with something to manage to do something bad without being punished or criticised for it one would say 'you get away with murder' not 'you get off with murder'
