plumbing a toilet to stack outside

You will probably need to install this or this below the branch as the shower waste will be lower than the toliet outlet, the branch will push (or glue, depending on what one you use) into the top of this. Also if there are any windows close to the rising vent part of the stack, you will need...

    Shower LUKE Warm Help Please

To isolate the water supply to the valve all you need to do is turn off the mains water. With an adjustable spanner undo the two chrome nuts that you can see in the picture above and remove the valve. You will see the filters sitting in those nuts. It really isn't that difficult a job to do, and...

    Installing a Power Shower

Surrey flanges are easier to fit than an Essex flange IMO. Essex flanges can be fiddley if never attempted before, once the hole has been cut into the side of your cylinder there is no going back. I've never dropped one into the cylinder trying to install one before but it is easily done, if...

    Shower LUKE Warm Help Please

Before you go buying a new thermostatic replacement, remove the shower valve and there should be some filters inside the two nuts. It could just be a bit debris in them that needs cleaning out. If this is the case, just clean out the filters and put them back in. But if you have been turning...

Is this a bag of sand?

If your builder mentioned that he actually worked for the Taliban and that building was his part-time job/hobbie, then i would be slightly worried about the mistery bag myself! Maybe it was a Christmas gift? But remember.... A bag of sand is for life, not just for Cristmas!

No hot water from mixer tap

The hot is probably airlocked. Put your hand over the spout where the water comes out, turn the hot on fully and then the cold. Hold your hand on there for about 30 seconds roughly, the cold will flow up the hot pipe pushing out any air. Make sure you apply enough pressure to the spout...

    Toilet not waterproof?

You can try and use your left over tanking fluid by all means, It could last forever or it could last five minutes. I never bother to try and repair them, i just get a replacement. I don't know why you can't just get a replacement as you haven't answered that question, but that would be the...

    Combi Systems

If you isolate the mains water feeding the boiler this will turn off all water, hot and cold. The heating won't be affected as it is a sealed system.
