Not Happy with Air Source Heating

True and point taken, I suppose I mean that 18 degrees with underfloor heating will generally result in a warmer room over all compared to heating with radiators as the heat is throughout the whole room not just near the radiators I would also say that although I am not an expert IMHO ASHPs...

Not Happy with Air Source Heating

Setting the underfloor heating to 21 degrees seems high to me, generally underfloor heating doesn't need to be as hot as radiators as its a more efficient way of heating. Also with a well insulted house it should not take as much energy to get the floor back up to 18 degrees again.

What should I use instead of floorboards?

I hope you have sorted the source of the damp which caused it all to go rotten if not chipboard would be a very bad choice as it will not last long in damp conditions. I would always go for Ply for flooring if not using proper floorboards as its much stronger and more stable than chipboard.

    Roof Tiles under Window

I suspect you may wel have to lose some of the lower part of your window to allow a proper joint between wall and new roof. Which will not be cheap and may well compromise the look of the whole thing. It seems like poor design work to me.

    roof Valley problems

Manipulating the fibreglass ???? I'm no expert but don't they form the fibreglass in place, so it fibre and liquid until it sets so no problem with manipulating it anyway. Personally I would be tempted to just put lead over the existing valleys (after removing any cement and replacing once...

Fitting a TV Wall Mount Bracket to solid and hollow wall

IMHO if the plaster board is dotted and dabbed onto a solid brick wall then you want to drill holes and use screws long enough to reach the brickwork (with appropriate rawl plugs) which should give you a nice solid hold to support to weight of your TV. Be careful not to go too deep as you do not...

    Solar Energy photo voltaic panels

Rates for electricity from Solar PV are going down rapidly (halved in 2 years) while rates for Electricity from gas are going up quickly. At some point there will be a crossover when renewables become cheaper than electricty from gas but if we don't invest in renewables now then that will never...

    Solar Energy photo voltaic panels

Your electricity bills are so much higher only in a small part due to FITs the vast majority of this rise is due to increased gas prices (gas being the main fuel used for power stations in the UK) and other fossil fuel costs. The benefit of the FITs scheme even for those not having a renewable...

    Solar Energy photo voltaic panels

No I don't agree the FITs are totally unrealistic they add a tiny amount to people bills (and of course this is only because the power companies pass on the cost rather than taking it out of their profits) the increase to bills because of FITS in negligible when compared tot he increases due to...
