    DIY shot blasting a radiator?

I think this pretty much guarantees you need to get the blasting done - not used nitromors in years but iirc you need to make damn sure you've not got any residue from it before repainting - old un-removed paint could well be contaminated by it.

Not used it but there are UV glues on amazon at 1/4 of the price with similar reviews...

    Router Bits

The foam in question is known as Kaizen foam but it's relatively expensive to buy - if you did though you could just punch holes into a sheet of it to stand your bits up vertically in a box.

    Router Bits

I inherited quite a few loose bits with a router I bought what I did was this: Got a segmented hobby/craft container from home bargains (£2) Got a short length of copper pipe and some of that rigid'ish foam that computers, electronics etc come in (not polystyrene - see pic below) Cut the foam...

Plug socket from Light circuit for low amp usage

Can you not just put a fused connection unit in between the feed and the socket and pop a 3 amp fuse in it (label it up as 3 amp only)?

Advice on installing new Kitchen units

Depending on the quality of your mortar, the fixing you've used etc I'm not sure I would be that happy about that. It sounds to me like you might not be that sure of it either as you've felt the need to reinforce it with a strip of wood underneath? The thing is is that will not stop it from...

    Trimming down door help!

+1 for what Gerald and JohnD said - the best method is to shave off the bare minimum with a circular saw, failing that a jigsaw taken slowly will kind of do. A piece of flat(ish) trim attached to the bottom of the door might make it look a bit more acceptable. I recommend using gyproc...

    Warped afterUnibond

Is that no more nails solvent free? Waxing will cause adhesion problems - cabinet makers use wax paper or waxed worktops on their assembly tables to stop glue sticking to them - you can remedy this by wiping the surface to be glued down with Isopropyl alcohol or some odourless white spirit but...

    Wireless Networking

By this I mean proper copper and not copper coated aluminium (CCA) - this goes for both Cat6 and Cat5e.

    Wireless Networking

Another +1 for Lucid's post. Some wireless AP's will also give you headaches where the zones overlap - you can get your devices trying to hop from one AP to another which can cause all sorts of headaches. Plus the other issue is wireless 'noise' - the more devices you have using it the more...

    Surround Sound Headache

OK so a bit of an update on this - still needs a bit more testing to check I'm getting proper surround as opposed to a stereo DD or DTS output but I have success! Buried under the full menus on the TV was a setting pushing out PCM...set it to auto it and now I'm getting passthrough to my amp. I...

    Surround Sound Headache

Looks like I'll be buying an optical to digital coax converter then. I don't mind pro-logic for the TV etc but when I'm playing a DVD or Blu-Ray then I'd like to get 'proper' 5.1! I'd assumed from the below options (from LG website, same menu as TV) that I could get the TV optical out to...
