    My central heating boiler is working perfectly! it's so warm in our house that I've had to put shorts on and resort to putting ice in my single malt whisky :roll: Can anyone please advise of other ways to cool down as I don't think me and the girlfriend will get much sleep tonight! :wink:

    It certainly sounds like the gas valve - but of course the fan is responsible for extracting the gas and mixing it with air (on a premix burner like the one on your boiler). So indeed you do need a competent gas engineer to diagnose properly. Allan

    Don't be silly now - there are lots of repairs that a competent diy'er could tackle without endangering and life or property.. Messing with a gas train or combustion components of a gas appliance do not come under this umbrella. :roll:

    Then you have a boiler fault. It may be that the domestice hot water sensor has gone to fault or the max burner pressure needs adjusting or the domestic hot water turbine is faulty. You need a gas safe registered engineer to diagnose properly. Allan

    What isn't your boiler doing right now? is it not working in CH or hot water mode? what are the symptoms. Even if the pressure has dropped to just under one bar - it should still work. You may have an underlying fault with the boiler. Al
