    Depends how much money you have. I tend to stick to Bristan as a personal choice Mira are good as well. If you pick a Bristan Shower, tell me what one and what price before you order it. I use an Artisan at home its a chrome bar with on/off one side and temp control the other.

    Boiler pressure gauge is for central heating circuit only. It has no relevance to the water pressure in your taps You need to put a pressure test gauge on the end of the tap to find out your answer. You can get some great showers that work from 0.2 to 5 or 6 Bar by the way.

    In the attic is a big tank check to see if the ball valve is stuck try giving it a wiggle, while your there have a look in the small tank (Im guessing you have a vented boiler) if there is water in this tank then your central heating will be OK.

    Are you sure you have low pressure. Or a low flow rate. If as I suspect you have a low flow rate then a mixer shower can still work. I say this because a combi heats up your cold mains as its used so in theory it should be the same pressure as your cold. Stick your finger under the tap...

    You need to check with your supplier to find out the working pressure of the mixer. Bath shower mixers have a minimum working pressure, if you have bought the high pressure model then an exhange will be probably be your best way out.

    Dont over do the silicon! you may need to get it off the wall one day. Try and keep it near the top, so you can get a knife down there and cut the silicon away.

    as a general rule you get what you pay for the diy centres can have great deals going on, nothing wrong with them but the quality of the bath and fittings is low. I have a £175.00 shell style suite in my bathroom from a diy store its been in for 5 years no problems.

    Open vented is as the name suggests open to the atmospere unless you have a water leak sealant will have no effect.

    you can use a basin mounting bracket. Lip it over the top where it dips in the middle or a few dabs of sealant usually does the job for me
