    Water pressure reducer

I have fitted a Zilmet 0.16Ltr Potable Expansion Vessel Shock Arrestor in the cold water system near to the boiler in the loft and this has solved the excess pressure reading on the pressure reducer guage. However, after a week of no problems, I'm now getting a loud water hammer when the hot...

    Honeywell Pressure Reducing Valve D04FM

Hi, Just starting to install the above into vertical mains pipe flowing upwards. The instructions say if mounting vertically it should be installed with the spring bonnet adjuster uppermost, however if I put it in like that the flow will be opposite to that marked on the valve. Can anybody...

    Water pressure reducer

Or I've seen "mini-resters" which are small cylindrical items. This would be much easier to fit but would it be big enough?

    Water pressure reducer

Thanks OBND. I've seen items online with a capacity of 0.16L. Does this sound adequate?

    Water pressure reducer

Oh I see, thanks. The supply comes into the house where there is the stopcock but no more room before the pipe disappears into an internal wall. There would be ample room on the cold feed pipe under the kitchen sink, does this sound OK?

    Water pressure reducer

Many Thanks Oldbutnotdead, makes perfect sense. One thing though, how does a water meter affect this? Also, apart from the fact that the pressure guage on the reducer will eventually give up due to its constant battering against the stop, is it a problem worth worrying about?

    Water pressure reducer

Hi, I recently fitted a mains water pressure reducer and set the pressure to 3 bar. When the cold taps were turned on and then off, the pressure reading returned to 3 bar, but with the hot tap it was 4 bar. About 3 months after fitting the pressure instantaneously rises so that the guage spins...

    Baxi DWH o ring

Just a quickie, I have a Baxi 105e weeping near the spindle at the front of the DWH diverter. Does the o ring fit internally on the spindle (meaning the front and rear parts of the diverter assembly have to be dismantled) or can it be replaced by just removing the gland nut on the front and...

    Services for new property

Woody, when you said "the builder can't do it", did you mean he can't dig the trench? He has told a neighbour that he intends digging the trench himself and I'm very concerned that he'll be digging directly beside my property, which has little or no foundations. (I am told the Party Wall Act...

    Services for new property

Hi, I own a property near to a site where a builder is starting work on a new build. He has intimated that he/his utility providers will need to dig up my drive/garden to lay services. Is he legally entitled to do this?

    Excavating near house

Thanks Guys. Why is it Woody that the PW Act doesn't apply, is it because the excavation would be for services?

    Excavating near house

No party wall notice. He's only just started clearing the site, but I'm worried that I'll come home one day and find a trench.

    Excavating near house

it's worth pointing out that our deeds show our boundary line as the house wall. There's then about a metre verge to the road tarmac

He claims it allows him better access for vehicles down lane.

    Excavating near house

The shrub was here when we bought the house 32 years ago and has been tended by us ever since. The roots are touching the house wall,, so if he intends removing the shrub he would be digging that close. the new property is approx 50 m as the crow flies, approx 80m avoiding gardens.
