    On first read of that Maplin product i quickly looked to cancel my amazon order - but then read the reviews in the nick of time, and was glad I didn't. Apparently a disappointing turn out. But thanks for pointing it out, it otherwise looked great. So... to power the 12V one I'm getting... :)

    I think the stock cube contains about 60% your RDA of salt. You don't need to add additional salt, and this makes enough for lunch and dinner if you were inclined.

    sure, sure, I'll get one - no prob. Now what will be the next step? I expect the volts reported from the solar panel will be far more than the 3V battery which comes with the tealight. So I need to make the source comparable I expect? If so, any recommendations about how I could achieve this...
