Can't log on to Windows 2000 pro.

In that case I would just reinstall windows from an installation disc, with the appropriate serial key for it. Put the CD in, turn on the computer or restart it, and follow the directions. If there's no data you want saving on the computer, just tell it to wipe anything old that it finds.

Can't log on to Windows 2000 pro.

If you want to go the password-recovery route, you'll need to download their software which is stored in an image file (like a zip file) that burns directly onto a blank CD using special software. Here's a free version of that burning software...

-because in most cases, it's usually difficult to just "bypass" a logon screen.

Can't log on to Windows 2000 pro.

Hi Stivino, I've not had this problem before, but if you have all the install disc to Windows 2000 and the key which comes with it, reinstalling the operating system isn't hard. Just boot from the install CD, usually. Alternatively, you can check this out...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

I'm back. My tools arrived the other day (very late from ordering) and today I had some free time and the weather was nice, so I set to work. My aim, to replace the brake pads and disc. Well, I thought all was going smoothly... until, I couldn't get the brake caliper back on the disc...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

There's a short funny video on youtube about how to change your bearings: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OeSykJguOjY I notice he doesn't use a "bearing race driver" but instead an air grinder to remove something. Since I don't have either, what is more beneficial to buy, and to use in this...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

I do indeed. I have a nice shinney new disc, pads and bearing to replace. I just have to learn how to do it first. What should I expect with this service manual I'm waiting for the delivery of? Is it likely to tell me for example, what socket size I will need for certain nuts? Or will it just...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

Thanks Tommy for your post : ) It's good to hear everyone's insight. The fact at the moment is, this job is taking way more than 90 minutes. Firstly because I didn't even know much about sockets and nuts before I started out on this task, so my progress has been real slow, and I've had to...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

Hi, whilst I'm waiting for my car service manual to arrive, could someone look at this picture of my calliper piston and let me know if I should g-clamp onto it to push it in? It's hollow and doesn't look like its even out very far. The old pads have been removed but normally grip inside it...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

Thanks Stivino and Xerxes for your insight. I'll look into these points. Also I've found the service guide available to buy on a website for £15. Unfortunately they send it on a CD rather than a download, but I guess it will be of some use.

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

-Can I also just check something. I am supposed to insert the new brake pads into the calliper BEFORE compressing the piston? Isn't the aim to compress the piston first, so that you have enough room to put in the new pads? On this picture here from the about.com guide, the guy is compressing...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

    >> loosen the bleed screw to allow fluid out directly. It's possible to damage ABS components if you don't do this properly. And of course, retighten and top up fluid levels when you've finished. Which one is the bleed screw? And is it necessary if I don't have ABS breaking? Today I got...

mm, so much to consider. No wonder people just take their cars to the garage. There's a lot to learn about auto repairs. My car is a little Daihatsu Cuore+ 850cc http://www.caranddriving.com/pix/Udaihcuore.jpg Shame the about.com guide missed out talking about the brake fluids :x but...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

hmm, well, i'll be honest with you... I was planning on this being my first ever test foray into the world of DIY auto mechanics, so I decided to get only the parts for one wheel (although it came with 4 break pads for all wheels at least) ... and see if I had success doing one wheel, then...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

Thanks everyone for your advice, it's great to be able to turn to a forum when you're off on a new adventure that has pot holes all along the way. I'll be embarking on the calliper tomorrow (wednesday) but wanted to accumulate the necessary tools together first, as I expect that just...

Brake caliper screws & wheel bearings

    - Actually, just before I go and make a muppet of myself, how about this idea... I have an impact wrench, I'm not sure what size it is but it works with a particular socket on my wheel's lug nuts. Anyway, if I buy an impact reducer set...
