All boilers must be condensing unless you can prove it not to be possible, can't renember when it changed though.

Replacing the seal means working inside the boiler, so your not even aloud to do that yourself, where abouts are you based?

1.6 isn't man enough for 2 showers, I've recently fitted a 3bar pump for 2 showers. Don't pay the bloke anymore either.

Can you here the pump going in the shower while the flow of water is low.

That will be there to keep the flue gases far away enough from the vent. Rules and regs change, just because the old one was fine doesn't mean the new one will be the same.
