    Boiler won't stop firing up.

Well! In a rural area people weren't fighting to come out. I had to go with whoever was prepared to fit me in. I often lose confidence in a tradesperson when there is poor communication. Some would say I expect too much. Understand that you can't say. Hoping it not a replacement part. I can...

    Boiler won't stop firing up.

Thanks for the answers so far. I have contacted them. My fear is that they may consider it a new job. I don't know how much testing was done as the job was done when I was out. Infact I wasn't sure if he was half way through or done as there was no communication. I had to contact him and ask...

    Boiler won't stop firing up.

Thanks for the hint about a switch. My fear is that they may claim this is a new separate problem from the job done. We were so delighted that the heating worked (as he had temporarily set it to hw only) that it is hard to say when this problem occurred or is related to job done. Background is...

It's a Biasi M96 28SM/C2 When we want the heating on it does *seem* to run normally.

    Boiler won't stop firing up.

Hello. We have recently had our 13yr old Biasi combi repaired (new heat exchanger, divertor, and motor). Hurrah we now have hot water and heating. However the only way to turn it off seems to be at wall ie no hot water. When the thermostat iis turned off, it communicates this properly. The...

In the meantime please could I have a final bit of advice The bigger story is this.. Since before Christmas I...

Just had a look and you're right. However what power rating do I need. The present one is a combi serving 3 bed semi detached.

Thanks. I'll also contact Biasi. Trouble is, let's say they ll do it for less. But can't come as quick as the other firm I know you can't say for sure, but how much over do you think 400 is?

Thanks for replying It's a Biasi M96 28SM/C2 And it's about 12yrs old Thanks The reason I can't possibly do it is that the part seems to be located behind other stuff and so I'm imagining other stuff will have to be taken apart. I suppose it's like changing a car clutch. Easy hard depending on...

    Quote for replacing heat exchanger

Hi I bought the item myself, thinking I could fit it but reality is I can't. I have a company lined up to fit it and will probably go ahead as my experience with their initial call out is good . I don't want to go round getting lots of other quotes however I was always taught not to accept one...

Urgent advice. Mains sockets keeps tripping and I'm supposed to be isolating.

Thank you. Kicking myself that I got all the extension leads out Oh well no harm done, and the boiler was on our list of things to be done anyway. It's just spoken clearly to us! Have a good evening all

Urgent advice. Mains sockets keeps tripping and I'm supposed to be isolating.

Massive apologies. I'm not at my best. My wife has just reminded me boiler is hardwired in on a switch. That was it. I'm confined to my room, certainly not allowed on kitchen and was going from memory. Eg I am often surprised that a hob has own circuit but a cooker had ordinary plug. I now...

Urgent advice. Mains sockets keeps tripping and I'm supposed to be isolating.

I don't quite understand. I doubt the boiler caused it's a combi. It is now unplugged like everything else. I agree water and heat can be issues. Previously if anyone spills water on hob and it goes down knob we have had tripping but then it is absolutely clear the cause and just have to wait...

Urgent advice. Mains sockets keeps tripping and I'm supposed to be isolating.

Just to qualify, there is an RCD protecting about 5 or 6 circuits. They are all running fine. It's just when I switch on mains circuit, the RCD trips

(Also have just realised we will have no heating. The electrics to boiler and the thermostat rely on ring main)

Yes. It is. Hope that's good news. I've tested the RCD ie small yellow button does trip it.

Urgent advice. Mains sockets keeps tripping and I'm supposed to be isolating.

Hi I've been banished to the bedroom with covid. Our mains keeps tripping. It is definitely main ringmain citvuit We have pulled every appliance out of sockets and still tripping. The saving grace is that I have one double plug socket near consumer unit which is its own circuit. So at present...
