    insulating car port

The main area I’m looking at initially is under the kitchen chipboard floor as the floor is coming up anyway to install new kitchen. Still worth getting them to put in kooltherm K103 instead of the polystyrene. (The chipboard and polystyrene currently does not even run wall to wall, some edges...

    insulating car port

So, the block management director attended today. Said that from their point of view they are happy for me to go ahead and install insulation to either the carport ceiling or under the apartment chipboard. Suggested that I speak to the maintenance team for advice on what would be best to use. I...

    insulating car port

The new management company seem pretty focused on health/safety/upkeep etc so hopefully they will see this as something to invest in. I moved my thermostat to the kitchen floor overnight to capture the temps and showed less than 13degrees. The kitchen chipboard is damaged/lifting at the seams...

    insulating car port

Bit of an update. I emailed the new block management company explaining the makeup of the floor/carport ceiling asking for advice regarding insulation and the director has advised that he will visit me on Monday to take a look and go from there. Also is there much to gain from moving to...

    insulating car port

Thanks for both replies, I have checked my lease and it states “the floors of the demised premises including any deck screed chipboard and insulation material but excluding the structure beneath said floors” so should be fine within the apartment but may need concent for ceiling of carport...

    insulating car port

I don’t really know what would be classed as a decent amount? Still worth replacing the 50mm polystyrene with kooltherm? Do you have a link to what type I would need? I have just measured out of the window to see where the vents line up and looks like they are approx in line with the...

    insulating car port

Really appreciate your feedback on this. Thing is we love the apartment but the cold chill from the floor drives me balmy. Don’t mind paying out for the best product if it fixes the problem.

    insulating car port

Evening both, Many thanks for the replies, I am not certain what the thickness is of the polystyrene as everywhere is now carpeted. I assume the polystyrene is held in place by batons with a void beneath to allow airflow? (as per the vents in the photos in my previous post) Would the better...

    insulating car port

Hi all, Just wanted to follow up on this thread as we are installing a new kitchen and the chipboard flooring will need to be replaced due to it having water damage. I thought this would be a good time to find out what is currently under the chipboard and install new insulation. The kitchen...

    insulating car port

Evening all, I just wanted to follow up on this thread as I have only just got around to taking down one of the carports ceiling boards. The board itself is only around 5cm think, behind the board is nothing but wood battons and concreate. The gap between the board and the concreate is around...

    Toilet fill valve replacement?

I thought "Comments from all are always very much appreciated." would of sufficed. (I hadn't noticed the thanks boxs that can be clicked on each thread)

    Toilet fill valve replacement?

I have kind of fixed/bodged the toilet back together. New diaphragm fitted. tried using just the one of the black rubber washers (instead of red one in kit) but still leaking. Squashed the 2 black black washers back in there and done the trick for now

    Toilet fill valve replacement?

A little harsh. I have always been very appreciative in the past on my other threads I have been fighting with the toilet whilst getting moaned at by the other half for leaving the toilet in bits and posting on the website via my phone. Comments from all are always very much appreciated.

    Toilet fill valve replacement?

Is the washer the right way up in this pic ? The black washers you mention to place between the chamber and the inlet don't look like the right size :-( can I get a replacement? The red one in the kit the wrong type I guess?

Where abouts does that part fit that you just sent me a link to?

    Toilet fill valve replacement?

At the bottom of the pic are the bits I took off. At the top are the pieces in a kit from screw fix. The 2 black washers on the bottom right were from a previous bad attempt to fix

    Toilet fill valve replacement?

having a nightmare with this as I expected :( Water ****ing everywhere and the fill will now not shut off? Could you confirm which way up the washer should go and if I'm missing anything? Not sure if it's miss threading.
