probably the water isnt shutting off when it refills this is usually down to muck in the inlet valve.. try checking if its that first before condemning the syphon setup,also lowering the water pressure to the wc helps as well

2 things to chk,,,,1 is the diverter valve passing to rads when hot water is demanded,with the boiler cold turn on hot tap and run water +chk temp of rad iator flow pipe,,if it gets hot your diverter valve is passing +and will need overhauling and or replacing...2 when hot water drawn off watch...
