one other question, im flooring downstairs and its concrete but its been tiled on top, not sure if its vinyl or actual tiles. it's whatever you get left with after you pull up carpet and underlay. house looks like it was built in the 70's. do i need a waterproof membrane for this?

new bushes = no change. belt looks fine and is tensioned correctly. removed the belt and the drum spins perfectly. i tried a programme without any load in and it worked fine. so i guess its the motor thats the problem. i've removed the motor and had a look. nothing out of the ordinary but...

i pulled the bushes out of the motor in my hotpoint as the drum was struggling to spin and they dont look too healthy. im unsure as to whether the dodgy looking bushes are the cause of the problem, or if they look like this because of a problem elsewhere. click on the picture for a bigger...
