Where are you planning on putting your membrane? My reading of your words suggest is that you are considering just under the paving stones. Which is not needed. Membrane goes at the very bottom (close to ground) layer, not the top layers.

Do you have to put it through the roof, are there any better routes through say the trim around the edge of the roof. Asking as going through the roof cools the vent pipe at that point and can cause condensation condensation to flow back down vent pipe (in my case leaking onto ceiling). Sfk

Mine does that when machine detects the load is unbalanced. My solution was to ensure machine was level by re-leveling it, and putting in a smaller load. Sfk
