Bay window roofing lead detached from wall. Help tips on how to make better job

I know nothing, but as no-one else has said anything yet, I wonder whether the lead is fine but the mortar, or whatever the white stuff is, looks like it's breaking up. I think it might be quite easy to remove that and replace it... properly. Anyway, someone who knows what they're talking about...

    Defeating the squirrels

What have the poor squirrels done to you? Why not feed them as well?

    GB News

As one of the many Brexit-loving EV-haters, I really couldn't care less! In eleven years I shall (possibly) be 83 years old and am unlikely to be driving at that age. I can, though, imagine there being far fewer cars on the road when ICEs are outlawed, especially as the UK is unlikely to be able...

How long do bulbs last? Tungsten, CFL, LED etc.

Why on earth would anyone want to outlaw the option of a pearl finish to light bulbs? I don't suppose that was just another silly idea by Sir Free-gear, was it?

    GB News

As a gullible GB News viewer, I agree and would never waste my money on an EV! Similarly, I'm glad we left the EU looking at the things they are trying to do now!

    EV are they worth it?

Excellent comment. I completely agree (despite being off-topic!). I can't decide whether the cause is 14 years of Liberal-Conservative 'government', the infamous Tony Bliar, or perhaps Two-tier Free-gear Starmer. Probably all three.

Is it illegal to use rat snap traps in shed?

I'd be pretty annoyed if one of our cats walked on one. Which makes me think, if it was in a neighbour's garden would I be able to take them to court for injuring my cat?

Dealing with cat poo in the lawn

I agree. We have two cats (and have had two more before them). None have ever pooed on the lawn. One of them usually uses a specific 'toilet' where, due to regular digging (and subsequent filling in) is now empty of plants. The other goes somewhere unknown to us, but hopefully not in a...

    Manhole discovery under the kitchen!

I must say that I'd be interested to know the outcome. On that point, where does it go to?

    Bathroom sink gurgling

I was born in God's Own County of Yorkshire, where they are all 'sinks'. 'Basins' are for posh people!

    Bathroom sink gurgling

Try what I did recently when our washbasin was gurgling. Fill the sink as much as you can, then release the plug. Whatever was causing our problem was washed away and the sink no longer gurgles.

Advice on using existing 32A cooker supply for EV 7kw charger

Buy an ICE. I wouldn't touch an EV.

Plumbing to an outside water feature

It does. My pond has an underwater pump which circulates water out through a filter and back in via a fountain. Usually, the rain tops it up for me. Occasionally, especially in hot weather it does need topping up, but I just run water from the nearby hose for ten minutes or so.

    EV are they worth it?

    LOL!

    EV are they worth it?

I should point out first that this is of no real personal interest to me. However, I think it is quite commonplace for new governments to make promises which, possibly due to matters outside of their control, never come into practice during their tenure. I suspect that this new Labour...

    Spiders on decking

Yes, I have heard about Decking Spiders. Highly dangerous things and have a bite which could be fatal... to a fly.

    EV are they worth it?

Sorry to hear that. Marge and I are still very close despite our not having any children, though I think she'd like to have had one or two.

    EV are they worth it?

Children, grandchildren or great grandchildren have I none. Had I had any, I wouldn't still be here in this country which is showing every sign of further failure under Labour!

    EV are they worth it?

It is worrying to hear how our leaders, whether national or local government, are running things today. Running things into the ground, I'd say. Still, if that's what the majority want, OK. I'm 72 in a few days, so I tend not to worry too much about the future. A shame for the younger people...
