Wagos were for testing and then for commoning the LNEs so that only the switch wires needed to be separated... Made wiring up the new UFH zones much simpler ;)

    How Good are New Toilets?

The problem is that check valves do not pose a barrier to bacteria that can migrate across. Dare I say... Like the English Channel!

Downstairs heating only working when upstairs is on

Glad you got it sorted. As said... It's usually a wiring error! Makes it more difficult to sort as a visiting engineer when customer has "had a try" themselves ;)

    Heating in a muddle

So, do you have one zone but 2 stats? And each stat should bring the heating on, depending on which one has the lower target temp?

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

"Ok thanks will do that. Is there than another grey in with the oranges that feeds the boiler? I think I have wired 2 greys the wrong way round" Yes. Potientallly, it could be a grey wire that takes the 240V from the commoned oranges, to the boiler! It all depends on what cable the installer...

    Boiler has died

Receiver power sometimes taken from boiler terminals. Usually upstream of any on board fuses though. Who knows how it's been wired, without eyes on. If you've no testing equipment or knowledge on how to use it, then you will need a visit. If they share the same spur and alarm is powered then...

    Worcester vs Vaillant vs Gloworm...

The difference is... If vaillant send out an engineer and it's not the boiler, they charge you anyway, so they always give the installer /customer's regular operative, the opportunity first, as they also charge, but will offer to repair if it's a fault outside the boiler.

    Boiler has died

Do you mean on your main fuse board? Have you looked for a fused spur? And checked the 3 amp fuse in that?

Put the greys together and the oranges together... As I said above "commoned" If you had 4 x 2ports you'd have 4 greys in together and 4 oranges together!

Downstairs heating only working when upstairs is on

Very likely a wiring fault... Usually is. Greys do not go in with oranges in terminal strip... Because... They should only be connected electrically... When the microswitch in the power head "makes"!

And while the head is off... Give the spindle a twist back and forth... See how easy it moves... Not a lot of travel in °s but should be easy. Valve may too stiff for synchron. Give it a squirt of a lubricant.
