    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

So dan I guess what it boils down to is if you read 16.6l/min and 3 bar pressure at the back tap on a 15mm main, how confident would you be that an unvented in the loft with a brand new 22mm feed from mains would give over 20oddl/min?

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Yep at kitchen tap about 12-14. Not measured outside tap flow before, only pressure

    16.6 I beg your pardon

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Outside tap just did 2.27 litre milk bottle in 8.2seconds- I make that about 18l/min? On the same feed as kitchen sink. That's also where pressure read 3-3.5 bar

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Cheers Bob just to give you an idea I just measured flow at my bath tap. 18l/min cold and 8 hot.... I do have braided wafty hoses on my kitchen sink so going to check flow at outside tap too.

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Definitely mate but on my current gravity system I get 5l/min hot and I'd rather run around under my Britain electric than fine tune that mixer. It's freezing or red hot, no mix at all, as soon as you turn cold on at all it drowns it. So system needs changing for me. Of course in amongst this...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

I'd love 30l/min and 4 bar - I'd have an unvented cylinder in already. But I haven't got it and all opinion is it's a system that is unbeatable - if you've got the pressure and flow I don't have Never debated the quality of the system but for a poor flow like mine it seems useless. You can...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Sorry dan what I meant was 50 say unvented 50 say combi But then when I ask about how flow rate now would perform with uv when with 22mm upgrade no one answers. And when I see videos (were they yours?) about an unvented if you don't then add an accumulater, the performance is absolutely terrible!

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Don't know mate but have got paperwork from its install in 2000. I know some units can last donkeys years but in my head after 15 years you're on bonus time. Hence the worry about doing "the job" whatever that turns out to be and realising I've got a nice shiny cylinder and a knackered heat...

Just had the pcb replaced on it a few months ago but feels like I'm on borrowed time with it.

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Take your point Bernard but I'm the kind of guy that likes to understand what I'm buying them get a few guys round, choose 1 I like and get him to do the lot. As long as he is qualified I.e G3 if I go uv. I can't be bothered to muck about with different guys on a job like that! I like the guy I...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

And the quotes are £2900ish for a brand new combi with all work required or about £200 more for changing cylinder and keeping my 16 year old boiler. Which is a risk of course

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

I'm willing to believe you mate but you are literally the only person who has suggested that it would be worth it on 14l/min. I'm no fitter though! You want sales training I'm your man....!

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

So you don't reckon the 14l/min flow would be a problem Dan? I am absolutely no expert whatsoever but absolutely everyone else says if it's not 20-22 all benefits of an unvented are absolutely gone whatever you do.....

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Cheers Bob I know invented is the tits but for me i am not convinced it's worth it. As you say can still add uv later. As a practical example I just got excited that I need to do washing up in the kitchen and I'd remembered to set the hot water to on in my vented tank. Just measured it coming...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

See this is what no one can tell me and every time I ask it's silence. It's the reason I'm still confused. Will my 14l/min be enough once upgraded to 22mm to run an invented properly?? If it might not how can I justify £3000 on fitting one.... I know it's a better system, you're excellent...
