    Can deck oil be removed?

    The oil would have sunk into the wood, so unless you want to sand back a few mm i see no way. Like above it will all weather the same!

    The half rounds are individual long pieces, get your self a circular saw (B&Q - £17) makes cutting them simple and quick. Start with the top piece and get it level as the posts amy not be 100% in line, then work down.

    I am going to use some of that plastic edging, not sure which one yet as there are many types. you could use many types of edging or just leave it and re cut it every 4 months or so.

    How about instead of spending money on a strimmer, simply remove 5 inches of turf around your edges, membrane and chippings/slate. That's what i'll be doing next weekend as i hate strimming!
