sorry. The wires are difficult to trace in parts and i have had to prize some apart to see where they are linked to. All statements made so far are correct and ammended as mentioned earlier. SORRY!

No, it goes into the wall. I asume it goes to the boiler, or room stat? ah ha it could go to the room stat as this would then give the signal to close the valve when desired temp has been reached. The room stat is a dial and has a red and black wire feeding into it, also a single core wire...

yes the No 3 (HGT OFF) in my existing programmer goes into the terminal block, connects to white and also has a red wire in it!

regarding No 8 Only the WHITE motorised valve and a RED wire (as mentioned earlier) link into this terminal on the block connector. Not sure if this will help, but the RED wire comes from a 2-core grey cable with the other core being Black and going into terminal 9 in the block connector.

it is attached to the pipe leading to the microbore manifold for the Rads so i assume this means that it is on the htg side! My diagram earlier showed the set-up. *HW cylinder 'T'eed between motorised valve and pump manifold...

the danfoss randall 4033 has switches for both the CH and HW: you can select ON, TIMED or OFF for both. I think that it is gravity fed hot water, not allowing the CH without the HW but can provide HW without CH. I think this is what the valve sorts out? The danfoss randall 4033 only has one...

white also has a red wire in same connector block terminal. This then disapears into the wall. The red wire has a small sticker on it with the number 8 on it.

just double checked wiring. No 3 goes to the motorised valve! Sorry for messing you around. Lots of wires in lots of junction blocks!!

i suppose the cylinder stat turns HW off when it is up to temp and back on again if HW temp drops again as long as the timer still displays the time set for the HW to be ON. Also what about 1 on my old programmer? It was simply linked to 6 (live)?

what about 1 and 2 on my new unit. These are the HW OFF and CH OFF? My old unit had CH OFF connected to port 3 on the 4033. can you list each connection from my old and where it should go on my new unit? Sorry if this is a big ask!! Do i not need to connect a DHW OFF into my new unit as my old...

i have just traced No 3 wire and it goes to the cylinder stat

extra info: I am almost positive that the DHW can heat independently when operated by the switch on the 4033, but if the HTG is switched on the DHW also operates at the same time.

not sure exactly as it goes into the large junction box. It should be the HTG OFF wire according to the 4033 wiring diagram
