    who does not speed

reread it i have two 130mph cars but it is hard to buy a nice car that will not do summat like that speed. i was questioning the need for such powerful cars in my 150mph remark. i made a statement and did not ask a question because it takes away from the thread. the motorbike. ive never...

    Aircraft and conveyor belt (again)

i could be, but i would rather not  i have the need for people to 'see' it rather than prove them wrong. i should have been a teacher, teach rugby... but i would have squeezed too many necks and got the sack..  sad but true..

    Bunker foundations

in the other linked threads, the polstyrene blocks mentioned are called beko blocks. a friend of mine used them self build to construct a big basement. they worked really well. the building inspector was really scared of the 'newness' of the blocks and insisted on having a cast ceiling with...

    Aircraft and conveyor belt (again)

it is amazing to me that some obviously clever people cannot see how this would work. i certainly dont mean to be rude in anyway, to anyone. we have been set a question that has tried to close off the loopholes but it is still seen as open by some. look at it differently and you will...

    who does not speed

ive never had a speeding ticket but i honestly dont know how. i own two big motorbikes and would use them on any journey where it is practical as opposed to a car, no matter the distance. the bike will shorten any journey time because traffic does not slow you down but i noticed that on a...

    Aircraft and conveyor belt (again)

john D if the belt controlled the speed of the wheels backwards, forwards or in a samba rhythm. the thrust will still make the plane move forward. i know thats not what the question said but if you think of it in the ^^above^^ way, it may help.

Fitting a cavity tray lots of questions?

agreed. the type of insulation might store/suck water but once bricks soak up a certain amount of water they cannot soak up anymore and shed the rest no matter how long it rains for. this is how concrete roof tiles work as opposed to clay. i think you have a leak somewhere into the...

    HI SPEED

trains defo yes. maglev ones.. cars no, we should limit power to about 100bhp, thats enough to drive most cars to a 100mph. modern technology has been used to make cars massively more powerful than they ever need to be, that same tech could have been used to keep the power about the same but...

    Aircraft and conveyor belt (again)

mega be cool m8 its not that type of thread, its a game visited by people who know already, or will soon fall into line. you are right of course in the theory of the op's question. im interested because although it might seem unlikely a conveyor or catapult might be used in future to...

Fitting a cavity tray lots of questions?

without seeing it, iwould think that your problem maybe a leak into the cavity rather than through the brickwork itself. worth a look at the roof by the chimney because although you would solve the evident problem as you've described, your insulation will still be get wet and so wont be working...
