    BIASI 28S Excessive Water Pressure

With the filling loop off and draining the appliance; with the appliance off does the pressure still increase? If so; turn the cold mains off to the appliance and see what happens... If this stops the pressure rising; then you need a new dhw heat-exchanger. If it doesn't solve the fault...

    part diy install

I know registered installers that sign off work for people... But generally it is for people they have worked with in the past; as such they know the standards of that person. When it comes to signing off a customer's workmanship - How do we know that the system has been properly flushed? How...

Yes; you will still require a minor works certificate for the installation which needs to be registered with Building Control... Additionally; the new boiler needs to be notified to Building Control as well under the Part L requirements.

Only if you deem yourself "competant" as per the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998 -> http://www.hse.gov.uk/LAU/lacs/33-6.htm As adwt2004 stated; he/she is not confident with gas which is the same as being not competent which would be illegal and quite frankly a stupid and...

Ok; my best and only advice is speak with local engineers. I certainly would not consider the job - But I know many that will. As for the finances; that's not for discussion here.

    Ravenheat boiler malfunction

Correct me if I'm wrong; but this is boiler GC: 47-581-28A As such it's a combi yes? And to confirm; there is no cold mains connected and as such, was never commissioned as per the M.I's?

    Baxi 105e Problem

Huh? How can it go into the diverter hot and come out cold; it must come out hot somewhere from the diverter otherwise there is no actual flow - The diverter is only a water path that directs water flow; as such it's heat loss is negligible.

    Ravenheat boiler malfunction

APS = Air Pressure Switch. From memory; this appliance is a dual pass heat exchanger which means that it needs a cold water mains supply connected; has this been done?

    part diy install

Sorry; I'm confused??? Where does the DIY come into it? I; like every other installer will replace a boiler and certify it; I will happily replace a boiler when the old one has already been ripped out and I will even install an appliance that a customer has purchased. However; I...

    Ravenheat boiler malfunction

Difficult to say without seeing it as always... a) Could be your APS when it gets hot it's contacts are not engaging properly causing it to fail to recognize the fan running. What is your hot water like during the "cycling" problem? b) Possibly your CH Thermistor. My two cents.

You will need to contact an Engineer in your area and ask them direct... I personally never do certification work for DIY gas installations...

    Central Heating Book

Installing a good central heating system is about experience; not theory in my opinion.... Like most other trades it's something you pick up upon and it's the hundreds of small things that make a good system. I agree the CORGI guides are very well written and practical covering the legal...

    POWERFLUSH....................worth the money?

After recently leaving BG for some of their policies regarding this kind of stuff; if purchased; the engineer who will arrive at the job for the flush; should turn it down as too risky; BG have a lot of young engineers now that are bred to sell powerflushes... Before going any further; try...

    Slow flow on hot taps

Possibly an air-lock if you have an open system. Try pumping mains water up the hot pipe to clear it (Be careful with this ;) ) or sucking on the hot to pull the water through.

trying to avoid draining a system...pipe freezers and bungs

If you're gonna freeze it; stay clear of cheap kits and bottles unless you are fast... As tincup suggests; hire one; well worth the money. As for bung kits; I prefer the Regin kit; all you need to do is place one over the open vent and the other into the cold feed, for cold feeds that are...

    britony flexiflue diaphragm change

They say that it can be done "in-situ" however the screws are made of the softest steel I can think of and it makes life soooo much easier just removing the entire burner and gas section. Ensure you've got some spare screws as the last one I done had corroded the screws and if I had put them...
