    this was on a strip and reslate the customer works for council but build control assure me any roof where ya take off more than 25% they must assess and charge this money seems like a rip off to me

    i did a roof recently as per spec closed ceiling so kingspan insulation fitted followed by phone call from customer say building control would not sign off roof after speaking to building control i was informed bearing in mind i have never recieved any info through post and i do mainly site work...

    i agree with you on this one noseall some apparently breathable membranes are not half as good as advertised i often recommend a tile or slate vent each side these days to try and get a thru draft and cumbrianroofer30yrsexp im also from the west MARRA

    yep the vents front and back were enough to cure the problem but i think the really bad winter we have had was a one off anyways so dont think there will be many more problems with condensation fingers crossed anyway (brigham eh so ya based in west cumbria mate)

    depends on the day really sometimes i work right thru no bait or diner and finish an hour early or start early finish late of course the hot weathers gr8 but am slating eternet slates at min theyre black and vvvvvverrrrrrryyyyyy hot in this weather :wink:

    3k to replace 2 lead valleys seems pricey to me how long are the valleys and if its only the valleys leaking id think your roof will have some life in it yet no felt dosnt mean a bad roof

    hi you could probably do it your self if you have decent diy knowledge but you cannot use that flashing kit for the pipe the pipe gets warm and would melt the rubber ask at a builders merchants for a gas flu pipe flashing they will know what you want in regards to howlong for a roofer to do it...

    what a cowboy it would have taken hardly any time to put in new flashing its harder to do it wrong than right find yur roofer and ring his neck cos if he left it like that in the firstplace he wont come back to sort it out
