    Linking Alarm Detectors

Hi Situation: I have three windows separated by walls in my lounge which I want to put magnetic detectors on. I obviously do not want to run a seperate to each. Can you also link a PIR and a magentic on the same cable? Is it feasible, and also best practise to connect them in series?

    Converting Hyperlinks to normal text

either that, as it may take some time, or select all the items in one go, copy them into notepad (click on start>run and run notepad.exe). Select all the text again in notepad and copy it and then paste into Works. If you are doing it individually, then breezers solution may be quicker if...

Install Manuals - Do they come with the Device??

agreed - I understand but I think you pay your money - you pay the price :) It is better than having no alarm at all. Also as soon as you find out that something has gone missing, you cancel the tags and change the locks anyway - agreed it may be too late by then but it is quite unlikely...

Install Manuals - Do they come with the Device??

    Internet Connection

I agree! Get a router from your local IT store. Make sure its a known make, like Linksys, Dlink, Netgear. This is more secure than connecting directly to the Internet using the ADSL Modem. They only cost around £30!

New Laptop - doesn't like my printer or other hardware!!

I am in the IT trade and I have found Canon printers to be superb! I have an IP4300. It does printing direct to CDs, duplex (prints on both sides of the page). It has 5 seperate inks (Photo Black, Black, and the three colours) and also seperate printing head. The inks are fairly cheap in...

    security on outlook folder

as far as I am aware you can't password protect a folder. What you can do though is create a new PST file, transfer all the email you want into it and the password protect the whole PST. If you want to be really secure, after you move the emails over, make sure you perform a compact and...

    monitor mains lead

If you look on the back of the monitor it will give you the exact voltage/amps required and with which polarity. You can then match this up in CPC, RS or as the other poster suggested, maplins. You obviously need to make sure that the connector is the same type and size.

    costomer avoidance practioners

I think its a different tacked from them - being less pushy! Everytime a sales person asks 'Can I help?', I always answer, 'No - just browsing, thanks'. If I want to ask something, I will find someone and ask! Why didn't you walk up and ask someone for 'elp?? :)

Laptop Screen - weird graphics when closing

If you do not feel confident in repairing yourself, we use a company called Teleplan for all our 'out of warranty' laptop repairs. Google for 'Teleplan Colchester' for contact info. They do free quoting, but charge P&P of £20 for both ways. I have only ever know them change £45 labour + parts...
