Cheers. Ill give this another go tomorrow. I see how that plug should be working now. It should have a little bar holding it down. The metal sheath has is broke. (n)

Balls. Should it be connected to something underneath? I cant get underneath as I cant get the damn trap off.:mad::mad::mad:

    Blocked basin sink

OK, Im not gonna bother trying to work out how to take that trap out. Ive fixed the blockage which was just under the plug, however now the plug doesnt work! I got it out by turning slightly anti clockwise. But it just wont go back in! I cant see any thread in the plughole for it to screw back...

    Blocked basin sink

Thanks, Ill try to unscrew the plug again. Maybe I need to give it a bit more welly! I cant remove the shelf: I presume I need to unscrew either side of the trap and pull it out horizontally?

    Blocked basin sink

Can you see from my photo how Id remove the plug? (I suspect thats where the block is, although Ill know for sure once I take the trap out). On my last sink it was connected underneath to a little metal bar. But I cant see what this plug is attached to.

    Blocked basin sink

Morning! My ensuite sink is blocked. In the past whenever Ive had a blocked sink Ive been able to take out the plug and poor drain cleaner down. However, with this sink it doesnt look like I can take out the plug. (Ive tried unscrewing it). What can I do to unplug it? Thanks

Ho do I prepare this area for lawn?

OK, I dug 3 holes (you are a tough taskmaster @Munroist !) Below are my findings: A layer of clay and rocks; then soil. It looks like top soil as its dark. I didnt see any worms. The water didnt drain away! :( I lost patience after 10 minutes of pulling at weeds, so dumped a load of...

Ho do I prepare this area for lawn?

Funnily enough, I have almost the exact implement! I used it to dig out a pathway. If it doesnt rain at lunch Im going to go out and dig some 18 inch holes and see if its top soil or sub soil. Ill report back!

Ho do I prepare this area for lawn?

Unfortunately I think access will be a problem. My girlfriend is always saying I like digging holes for myself. :censored:

Ho do I prepare this area for lawn?

I sprayed it with weedkiller about a year ago. So what you see is a year's growth. My initial inspection shows its clay, with soil underneath. I will do as you say and dig a few deeper holes to get a better idea of what Im working with. Next door (the others side to the wooden fence) have a...

Ho do I prepare this area for lawn?

Haha, no probs @sodthisforfun ! I spent a very disappointing hour today prodding about at a patch of ground, and then gave up. Wasnt sure how to tackle the situation. I was using a spade and removed a few bigger stones. Its obviously been used as a dumping ground for builders waste. Theres...

Ho do I prepare this area for lawn?

Hi all, I have about 150square metres of very uneven ground that I want to lawn. Lots of debris (bricks, stones, rocks etc...). Ive dug in a few spots and it seems the stones etc are mostly on the surface, then 15cm of clay, then soil. (although I have discovered a few breeze blocks under the...

Can mold and condensation cause damage?

I think Ill ask for an inspection of the property and take photos of the 'problem areas', and see what you guys think. Thanks

Can mold and condensation cause damage?

Thanks guys. I noticed some 'bubbling' of paint on window sills and obviously dark damp patches on the plaster. If its just decorated surfaces that are affected then Ill keep their deposit. (Ill obviously get a quote to redecorate, and tell them that this is my intention unless they sort it...

Can mold and condensation cause damage?

Hi Im letting a house out. The tenants dont ventilate the property/drying clothes inside etc... The walls are dripping with condensation and black mold everywhere. Other than their health (which Ive told them Im concerned about!) what damage realistically can black mold and heavy condensation...
