Cheers Tickly.
This shower is only used occasionally and I did warn the customer it's designed for caravans before I ordered it. I've also assumed the waste will be 40mm because it has to be a certain size to avoid blockage/flow problems, whether it's in a caravan or not.
We'll soon see...
Thanks lightning! I found one that will fit, but it's designed for caravans...

I assume it should be okay to fit in a house..?
I've been asked to supply and fit a shower tray that is only 670sqmm. I can't find one that small in the usual places I look. The enclosure is completely built-in so I can't fit anything bigger without knocking a wall down. Does anyone know where I might find such an unusually small shower...
A couple I know have bought a new washing machine.
Problem 1) He's got the standard (21mm?) drain pipe coming out of the back of the machine, but a smaller diameter pipe coming from his sink trap.
Problem 2) He's cut off the end of the pipe from the washing machine.
Is there some kind of...
I see what you mean about the Warix being more adjustable.
Also, I think the tee comes off sideways, so maybe it would be as simple as moving the tee to the bottom of the pipe so it comes off downwards.
Thanks Dave. If memory serves there was a tee off the hot outlet. I didn't think anything of it because Aqualisa had told me previously that you don't have to go straight into the hot or cold tanks, just nearby. Anyway, that'll be something to look out for before I start doing anything else...
The problem is that the hot water comes out very slowly. They had a plumber out about four weeks ago, he forced cold water into the hot tap to force out air which worked...temporarily.
I'm thinking of fitting an air seperator(?) at the highest point to constantly release the air. Would this...

Job's a guddun.
TBH I was a bit worried still faffing around near the combi-boiler, but it went off without a hitch...so far!
It was odd that the man of the house had taken a day off work to supervise(?) me, but he was asleep on the settee most of the day. Does anyone leave a key...
We did a small section on electrics at level 2. It was strange because they told us how to wire a fused spur and a few other things...then said don't do it because you're not Part P qualified. Then they told us that we do more Electrics in level 3, but weren't sure if that was accepted as...
A lot of people in your situation would set up on their own. You can enrol at college doing one day per week to get your ACS. You don't have to do work that needs CORGI registration, except when you're looking for NVQ evidence, which you'd get checked.
Sorry to hear your problem Gastel...
Hey hey! I got the job, and start next week.
I can't see there being a problem to be honest. I turn off the stop-cock, drain down the domestic hot and cold and get cracking...simple!
I also enquired about the Baxi boiler course, but I've not heard back yet.
I don't know what it's called, but there's a metal lever on the side of the 3-port valve. If you push that across it'll slowly go back to where it started, but in the meantime it'll free up the valve inside. It's no effort, so it's worth a try.
You do have to show evidence of work done, but you can have someone come out to your work while you're doing it to sign it off. In my case one of the tutors at college can do it. It's a lot easier if you're a "Plumber's Mate" though and your boss can sign off your work.
Haha, thanks for...
That's some youngsters for you. They don't appreciate anything, they think the world owes them.
I don't know how to get the grants, but they were common knowledge among the tutors. I'd find out for you if it wasn't holiday time.
You're right. Our college isn't up to the mark either. It's all about budgets.
Our class was made up of the 'mature' candidates and we complained all year, week in week out. We even told OFSTED when they came and the department still got a decent rating. All we could do is work hard, read...
Actually, I was taking you at your word and not being either scarky or sarky (that's sarky!) I'm of the age where I do genuinely respect knowledge and experience.
As I'm sure you know, it's not only Property Developers who have trouble with plumbers. On two quotes I've already done, they've...
Dolgellau? Wow, you travel pretty far! I'm still willing to do it, but I can't PM you as this forum doesn't have that facility. I've changed my profile so that you can click on the email icon to email me.
I hope it works out (and you're not an axe-weilding maniac! )
