4 Storey House - Pump needed?

You cannot fit a pump to combi boiler to increase pressure. Do you have good mains pressure? Is your bathroom(s) currently supplied with storage water from a tank in the loft? Could the boiler be installed elsewhere? Maybe in the loft? The boiler seems a little small for the 4 story...

    New Central Heating Cost?

Well only thing that hinders the flue that i can think off is coring through 36" of sandstone but i have done it before. Its a bitch though.

    New Central Heating Cost?

Depends on the Boiler you want etc: But i would quote around £1700- £2700 for that type of flat. I know those pretty well. Edit: Getting decent access under the floorboard is essential, old tenements tend to have a lot of old engine ash under them which need to be cleaned out.

    New Central Heating Cost?

There is numerous radiator size calculators on the net, what i would normally say is fit the biggest you can in the space you have. Here one: http://www.fixedfast.co.uk/btucalculator Use watts rather than BTUs. If you have a space say 1 metre wide on a wall then its best to fit...

    Poor water pressure

Plastic pipes do nothing to alter water pressure, bad plumbing might. Can you measure the pressure just before it goes into a tap?

    Bars of solder

Anyone know where i can get bars of solder from, occasionally we still need to ball a lead joint! My gaffer say it used to be called grade D or 50/50 but i have never owned a bit of it myself (too young) A bit 1/4' by 1'' by 12'' would do me till i retire tbh.

    polyplumb fittings

Try to pull the pipe from the fitting, if you can't then the water won't either. Thats not say it will be water tight though, its the rubber that does that part.

Vertical Designer rad on 8mm microbore?

The free ones look ok to be honest. Worst thing that could happen is that they pack in and you have to drain down to replace them some time in the future. Danfoss RAS-D in Chrome would be my choice though.

Vertical Designer rad on 8mm microbore?

All sounds good to me. Watch eBay for fake TRV4. Make sure it says genuine trv4 and not "Like" trv4 or that sort of thing. I still prefer Danfoss RAS-D myself. Good luck!

Vertical Designer rad on 8mm microbore?

Just use 15x8mm compression reducers, no problems at all. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/74029/Plumbing/Compression-Fittings/Comap-Brass-Coupling-C-x-C-15mm-x-8mm

Well what do you make for fitting a suite and maybe plumbing in a kitchen sink also?

What should i do ? - Rights of an apprentice

To be honest i do not know the rights of an apprentice, but if like you say your are out on jobs on your own then £7 an hour is a little carp. If your doing bathroom suites day in day out alone and learning next to nothing then your not an apprentice. I bet you do as good a job as time served...

What should i do ? - Rights of an apprentice

I know 3rd and 4th year apprentices that are earning £14-18 an hour. Why don't you look for another firm?
