    Over flowing urinal...

hi, doing a job in a restaurant toilet. The end urinal keeps overflowing, there is 3 in total. The problem one is furthest from the soil stack. They all drain very slowly, i've managed to get some access to the stack and found an inspection cap. I've temporarily dried fitting a durgo vent...

    Air in Radiators

Hi, any copper pipes laid in concrete should be WELL protected. The concrete will slowly but surely corrode the pipe. Pipes should be thoroughly wrapped in some sort of lagging before buried in concrete.

    Power Flushing....your views...

I was having a chat with a friend the other day (a plumber). We were talking about power flushing, he mentioned he doesn't like them as sometimes they do more harm than good in terms of causing the odd leak where the system had previously been 'held together' by the sludge and muck. He mentioned...

    Noisy new shower

My friend wanted a new shower, so had bought one anyway for me to fit. Not sure what the old shower model was exactly. Can I purchase a universal balancing valve? Or will I need a specific Mira one? Thanks in advance. :)

    Noisy new shower

Hi, I fitted a new mira duo for a friend. It is now making a whistling noise, and he is complaining that the hot water is a bit sporadic. The old shower was a new team. This had some sort of blending/blalncing valve fitted under the bath. The reason he wanted the old one replaced was...

Hi Gang, a friend of mine wants his shower changing. Its a New Team model, thats over 10 years old. The pipe centres are 100mm. The smallest adjusters I can find are 110mm. He has a Mira bar mixer shower he's bought to replace it with. Are there any adjusters out there that would keep the...

    Starting out on your own

I don't mind putting in the hours, we regularly work late, doesn't bother me as I enjoy it. Been employed in some pretty dull jobs in the past, working all sorts of hours. Will keep doing what I'm doing.. ie working for my boss, and just do any work on the side that I can get through friends...
