    Decent outdoor socket?

I assumed as such, should have suggested it was a typo on your behalf really.

    Decent outdoor socket?

80% corrected value (as in the OSG) is 0.58ohms, 0.72ohms would be the uncorrected value. Also it's 230/(32x10)

Accidentally ran lighting with switch cable. Now what?

Blue sleeving at the terminations and it's compliant. OK, it's not ideal but there's no problem sleeving a blue conductor with brown sleeving for switch wire purposes.

Help!!! Light fitting with 3 clear wires

If the lampholder is an ES (screw type) then you need to ensure the line conductor connects to the centre pin and neutral to the outer screw thread. If it's BC (bayonet type) then polarity doesn't really matter unless the terminals at the lampholder are marked with L & N.

    Crimping question v 2

There's a couple of different clamps, those that clamp a cable between two plate with a screw at either side. They're good for the cable to terminate directly in. And then there's the type that has a 6mm screw which you should do as RF advises above as I've yet to see a sound mechanical...

    Solar panels

Could be right Paul, at around 6pm this evening I was generating just over 1kWh so if I was importing 500Wh then there would be an excess of 500Wh. This would make a meter stop, or go backwards at the same rate as it would forwards when importing 500Wh (if it was one that went backwards).

    Unwanted mushrooms growing!

I have a problem with unwanted mushroom looking things growing on my lawn. A couple of weeks ago I just pulled them out from as far down as I could but they've now sprouted again, more so after all the rain we had at the back end of last week. Any idea how I can control them or permanently...

    Electrical Installation Installation and Testing

You commented the following As the fee is the fee and you have no choice in how much you pay it's fair to assume one of two things but I lean more towards the first - basically stuff them, I'll carry out what DIY electrical work I like and they can do one if they think I'm paying their...

    Electrical Installation Installation and Testing

That's not recommended due to the potential of forgetting to remove the link (it can happen). It's a pointless exercise anyway considering you've already done both tests (Ze and R1+R2).
