ECO funding for DIY external wall insulation

You can only get ECO funding if you have got Pas2030, to get this it would be pointless for a one off job as its a long process and costs a lot of money, I install EWI but we are not Pas2030 registered but dont need to be as my customers dont receive funding as they pay outright, although I now...

    Problem with meshed Render

To be honest I'm not too sure what meshed type system has been used from the description given, but at the end of the day something along the line has failed, which is obvious from the picture. In my opinion it will need to come off and be done again as the cracks are not good for a start as...

    Problem with meshed Render

If its weber it looks like its there monocouche, which is called "weber pral m" Obviously something has gone seriously wrong as it should never look like this ! Did the contractor seal the wall first ? If he was going over brickwork that had render on previously he should of applied rend aid...

Tyrolean Patch Repair vs K-Rend Finish - HELP!!!!

I know that under £25 a metre is a good price, our prices start from £30 a metre on private jobs and even that is seen as good as we win our fair share of work ! you only have to google it and you will see prices of £55 a metre for monocouche ! Although in my onion that is too much but if they...

Tyrolean Patch Repair vs K-Rend Finish - HELP!!!!

Skimmers how much a metre do you charge for monocouche, with scaffold say around £200 and then chop of taking a day, allowing for stubborn areas, then skip for rubbish removal, then Walls will need to be treated to take new render ! must be leaving only about £25 a metre or less to monocouche ...

Rendering outsid around Patio doors and creating a lip above

Use weber OCR (one coat render) ring weber for your nearest stockists. It's quite easy to work with compared to sand and cement, you can pack it out up to 25mm in one coat, don't need a scratch coat. Timber baten underneath sound fine to use as form, ideally you should be looking for minimum...

Removal of Pebble Dash Render - Advice

Why was the render installed on the property's ? Might be that the brickwork is no good ! I would be carefull as you might not be able to restore back to original ! Also, some part may be stubborn and when you try and chisel it off might take the face of the brick off with it . Can't really...

    Render volumes for 2.7sqm walls

If your doing such a small area I would use weber OCR (one coat render) 1 bag equals 1sqm at 15mm, so obviously you will need 3 bags ! Will be able to do it in one hit rather than scratch and come back later, plus I find it easier to rub up and get a smooth Finnish !

    Rendering over previously painted walls

As far as rendering on to paintwork, I would use "rendaid" with mesh in it, it sticks to painted surfaces and once dry can then be rendered over. If your house is of solid wall construction I would consider External wall insulation, with the rising cost of gas, now is the time to get it...

    Airey house render

It sounds like they have cut down insulation and fixed it to wall, I don't think they would of used plastic as it would expand and shrink too much in different weather, if it was me I would fix insulation inside grooves then insulate over whole lot with insulation board, then install a 6mm...

    Roughcast question, any advice?

Yeah it can be done this time of year but the builder will need to make sure the temperature is 5 or above, in the past i have sheeted the whole side of a house up and circulated heat into it to keep the temperature at about 5c even when the temperature was more like zero outside,it did cost a...

    removing render and reapplying

To be honest you will never be able to "flick" away water from house wall at bottom even if you use a bellcast, the water will still drip on floor and if your floor runs towards your house then the water will always sit against brickwork, the best suggestion so far would be to fit/form a gully...
