Having some brickwork done at the mo. and the bricks are called Autumn (something or other) they`re a very roughed surfaced brick and the guy doing the job seems to have got mortar in the grooves? on the brick. Is there anyway in which I could suggest to him (not trying to tell him his trade)...

Cheers Nige F only thing is there`s no apparent leaks (yet) plus the things not been used in donkeys years so only problem is if we have it swept we might dislodge or disturb any mortar etc, but i`ll give it a go and see how I go on. Many thanks

Found this little gadget on a shopping channel and what a little gem it is. Perfect for any job that needs a neat bead of silicone etc. No more of the wetting the finger and hoping for the best. All you do is scrape of the excess amount and the jobs done. Only downside is you`ve more waste but...

Only just read this one but what you need is a tool called a "joint-boy" only ever seen em on qvc but what a great little tool for this type of job (infact any job especially siliconing) no more wetting the finger, perfect results everytime
