    Well theres no doubt certain rules, restrictions etc, but your council can probably give you advice. You will still need to get a specialist asbestos removal company in, but if you are allowed to bury the asbestos instead of having to remove it then it will save a bundle

    Is the site still a farm? I seem to remember reading somewhere that if it is, then in some circumstances you can bury asbestos on site. Maybe phone the local council and get their advice?

    Using a stud connector (also called a threaded rod connector). Long enough to hold an end with a pair of grips, while holding the pipe in a vice and solder/braze. Then use a grider to whip the end off flush.
