    Venturi shower?

Thanks both for that. I will check the specs against what is in the new house. Are there any pitfalls with these showers? Are they reliable? Are they efficient? Are they equal to, worse than, better than other types of shower in the same price bracket?

    Venturi shower?

Hi Guys, After placing a thread on here and reading others i am interested in the idea of a Venturi shower. I have visited several sites on the matter which all appear to be a rehash of each other. I believe i now understand the basic concept. So, what are the pitfalls? What are the...

Thanks for that diybot. I will look into the viability of a Venturi Shower, something i had never heard of until the last few days.

    The best shower for me?

I enquire about expense as i have read that 'power showers' can use absolutely massive amounts of water, equivalent of a bath, in very short periods of time. So although you may find it a 'red herring' i am merely enquiring if this is true. I am on metered water unfortunately and have to find a...

    The best shower for me?

Thanks for that Paul, though i am afraid i may have missed the point. It was an interesting read and a lesson in how not to ask questions on here but unfortunately only made things more confusing as i have never heard of venturi showers. Any further assistance would be gratefully...

    The best shower for me?

Hi Guys, I am moving house and at present the shower is fed from the hot water tank. The CH/HW are powered by a conventional gas boiler (not a combi). The shower is very low on pressure and I am wanting to fit a new more powerful shower. What are my options? I have heard that power...

    2 problems possibly connected

I live in one of a row of 4 terraced houses that share a communal boundary stopcock. It can only be turned of with the express written permission of all other property owners (one of whom lives in france) and then i have to pay Northumbria Water to come and do it. Next problem is that...

    2 problems possibly connected

The problem with the stopcock is that turning the wheel has absolutely no effect on the flow of the water even when fully closed. I have no idea where the boundary stopcock is. Looks like i'm going to have to find a way to get this panel off. Thanks

    2 problems possibly connected

I checked the pipework where possible, the heater can and srestarted the shower on cold with maximum flow, all i got was gurgling and lots of air, no sign of any debris. Unfortunately i can't turn the mains off as the stopcock doesn't work. I now have the prblem that i can't get the bath...

Thanks very much for that. I have lodged a complaint with the water authority. The cold tap is fed from the main. What do i need to do to it and what am i looking for?

    2 problems possibly connected

Hi Guys, Over the last 2 days the plumbing in my bathroom has developed 2 problems which i am assuming are connected. When turning the cold tap on for the bath, there was a large clunking noise then a massive drop in pressure. The tap has to almost fully open to get any flow at all and at...

Hotpoint Aquarius WD62 not much water

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WD62 that has been absolutely brilliant until last week when the local water board did some maintenance on the water supply which put airlocks into our system (not sure this is related may just be coincidence). Since around that time, when used the washer does not...

Airlock in Potterton COmbi 80 system

Pump is at full speed. System was mildly dirty, has been flushed at time of pump replacement and has a cleaning fluid in there at the moment doing its stuff. As said a plumber has been to inspect it and is more than certain that it is an airlock. He did get it going but couldn't hang...

Airlock in Potterton COmbi 80 system

    Baffled

All 3 hot taps appear fine, i.e. bone dry all the time. With the temp sensor, should i be looking for evidence of failure? Is there a test i can do? or do i just replace it on the assumption that it is the problem? Thanks
