    Rubber Roof - problem

Just to be clear, the deck is all covered by the EDPM. It is the correct length on the front of the extension, but not on the adjoining gutter side, but even there, it goes past the deck and over the main fascia board and top of the batten, albeit not by enough. What will not be covered if...

    Flow temp vs power rating

No hot water was used throughout the monitoring. Only me in the house. Why would the anti cycle time be used up whilst heater is burning gas over a long cycle? I thought the point of these settings is to adjust what the boiler does after it hits SP+4. One is an anti fast cycle temperature...

    Flow temp vs power rating

So I've monitored my boiler this afternoon. It doesn't make sense... So flow temp is 60C Anti fast cycle flow temp is -14 Anti fast cycle time is 15 mins 12:00 - boiler comes on. Flow temp initially goes to 43C, then settles down to 30C and builds from there. 12:29 - reaches the 60C flow...

    Rubber Roof - problem

The trouble is, doing a patch along that stretch could make matters worse. A) If we extend the rubber with a patch on top, firstly we have to hope that it will remain glued on to the existing EDPM, besring on kind that it is going to be folded over the edge and between the trim. Also, that...

    Flow temp vs power rating

Mm... these different ideas and ways of doing things. I think the TRVs fully open works with your strategy of keeping the boiler on for longer periods but to lower temps. In my case, I have the TRVs set to about 3 (varies by room because of individual TRV quirks, placement of furniture, etc)...

    Rubber Roof - problem

Are you suggesting to put a patch the whole way along or just near the corner?

    Flow temp vs power rating

Interesting posts. I have the pump head setting on the lowest (1) on mine for that reason - i.e. slowing flow. I also lowered the rating down to about 12KW, from 24KW. I will have a check on the timings of mine tmw and report back how it is working for me. It seems to heat the house...

    Rubber Roof - problem

I'm with you. Rubber underneath could end up being a pain... hopefully there is enough rubber to make it to the clamp point. Thanks for the advice!

    Rubber Roof - problem

This is very helpful thanks, as the other posts have been. What you've suggested seems the most expedient approach under the circumstances. Although some additional rubber at the front corner, along with a corner trim piece to cap it off, would seem sensible and not require much work? I also...

    Rubber Roof - problem

I've checked and it doesn't go to the bottom of the trim along gutter side. There is a gap mid way in the trim so that I can see how far down it goes. See photos. Having said that, and whilst obviously not ideal, I don't see how the decking or inside the roof can ever get wet along the main...

    Rubber Roof - problem

It was done about 2 years ago. It finishes at the bottom of the trim on one side but I'll have to check again tomorrow the side that appears to be short. The guys who did it are not the best, certainly not with flat roofs, but they are good for coming back if I raise an issue. I'll flag it tmw...

    Rubber Roof - problem

Hi all, Not a major problem but I need to fix it. At one of the corners, the rubber membrane hasn't been tucked in properly, or has come out somehow. It doesn't seem loose but there is a hole where you can see through to the OSB boards. I would sooner this were closed off. At the other side...

    Flow temp vs power rating

Thanks for your comments. I see I'm not the only one who has been fiddling around with settings in an obsessive way and had the missus wondering what it's all about :) That's useful to know about the flow temp +4C on a Worcester. Explains why it wasn't getting to 5 above as I was expecting. In...

    Internal partitions

Hi everyone! As you will see below. I have two rooms that are inter connected. The family room (not what we call it, fk knows what that's about), is a 1970s extension. The doorway between them is quite narrow and is an open archway. Not wide enough to fit a door frame and door. I want to make...

Extension - thermalite, trusses... or not?

So how would Kingspan Kooltherm K106 compare on price and ease of installation compared to that PIR stuff?

Extension - thermalite, trusses... or not?

I don't have one. Just want building control sign off.

Extension - thermalite, trusses... or not?

Thanks Nose. So what do you do when constructing single storey extensions?

Extension - thermalite, trusses... or not?

There seems to be a difference of opinion now. One builder saying the options are: - thermalite, 90mm cavity insulation, 10mm gap - fibrelite, 150mm cavity filled with bats Another builder saying: - Thermalite and fibrelite similar u values so go with fibrelite, 90mm cavity insulation and...
