I tested the outside bell by simply letting the alarm go off. The internal sounders worked fine but nothing from outside. Do you mean taking out the bell wire in the panel and touching the battery terminal in there?

Hi again. Yes of course I realise that if you remove the bell fuse then the bell would not work but the fuse that had blown was - according to the circuit diagram - the bell/strobe fuse. This also somehow was preventing the pirs from working and causing all the zones to malfunction if the alarm...

Hi thanks again. I checked the fuse with a continuity tester and it was indeed blown. I swopped the other fuse (battery) and tried it and the pir's are now working and the internal sounder works as it should and the alarm will set. When it goes off however there is still nothing from the bell...

Thanks for the suggestion. There are two fuses near to the keypad which look unbroken and there is also another at the back of the box which I assume is a higher ampage fuse for the main power. Could the fuse be duff even though the filament inside appears intact?
