You need a upvc repair screw which is slightly bigger than a standard upvc screw. Try Upvc spares 4 repairs .co.uk They sell to the public and are very helpful if you have to phone them up. ( I have no affiliation to them other than being a previous customer) Mike

I've been using the same paint for the same purpose as you and mine has been fine, mist coat on bare/filled and sanded down plaster , then two coats of undiluted paint and job done !! Maybe the mist coat was thinned a tad too much and caused it to be less opaque?

    After removing wallpaper

I've just done the same as you, and all I did was wash the walls down with a solution of sugar soap and gave the wall a scrape at the same time to remove the paste sludge. Some people then wash the walls down with clean water but that's a matter of preference.

In theory yes, but splashes of plaster are bound to end up on the ceiling and so will need to be repainted at least.

    *Plastering tomorrow for the 1st*Help!!

Next time you have to fill out the chases in the wall, mix 1 third bonding plaster with 2 thirds multi finish plaster and fill just shy of the finished level so you can get a thin tight coat of multi finish on top. This way you can often get the job done in one go. Mike
